Hi everyone. Wanted to share my experience with Physical Therapist, Pamela on. I contacted 2 physical therapists who are considered experts in this field (Rhonda Kotinaros, Chicago; and Pamela on, NYC). After much consideration and prayer I travelled to see Pam. The testimonies on her website were very encouraging to me; I also communicated with women who had seen Pam and are much better (one in fact is having pain-free sex with her husband after having this for 18 years). Thank you to the ladies on this list I talked with who are/were patients of Pam's. How many of us go for physical therapy and get nothing out of it? Pam told me that every

one of her vulvodynia patients have improved; some a little and some a great deal, but everyone sees improvement. I find that to be a very big statement, but after being treated by Pam I believe it. After seeing 2 PTs in my area who've been treating women for this condition for some 15-20 years, there is NO comparison... I mean NO comparison. Pamela on's credentials go on forever (as many PTs do I imagine). She has advanced orthopedic training which complements the physical therapy she does for women's health and Vulvodynia/IC. What impressed me very much is that Pam has done 4 internships with Vulvar Specialist, Dr. Kellogg-Spadt in Philly. I was also shocked to learn that Pam's practice is made up of 70% vulvodynia

patients! Pam did body mapping, integrative manual therapy, myofascial release, muscle energy, strain counterstrain, trigger point release, skin rolling, biofeedback and many other things. She massaged the pelvic floor and the perineum on every appointment which is a crucial area for us. Pam sent me home with exercises to help with my biomechanical issues. She drew a picture and provided me with written instructions on each of these exercises which helped alot, since we usually forget how to do them all as soon as we get home. She also sent me home with a Crystal Wand. I've seen this mentioned before on the

grouplists. This is to help us reach places in the pelvic floor (to massage) that are hard to get to. See www.amazon.com (plug in Cyrstal Wand) or www.lovenectar.com. (Tom, if you're reading this and you team up with that other PT, you might consider adding this to your protocol or even contact Pam on to find out more.) I keep it in the shower with a little spray bottle of vegetable oil or any lubricant of your choice. I use the Crystal Wand to massage my pelvic floor every morning in the shower and massage it every night by putting one foot on the counter. It's probably best to use it several times a day. The chronic state of clenching my pelvic floor was in seemed to have subsided right before I saw Pam (figures), but between her agressive internal massage/myofascial release/and whatnot, and my own daily massaging, my pelvic floor muscles are much more relaxed (but not totally yet) which is great! She did the Q-tip test on my first visit, then at a mid-point visit, then on my last visit. It was awesome to see how I was improving while I was under her care. Pam is an excellent PT. My disadvantage is that I'm not local, but the trip to see her was invaluable 'for me'. Pam sent me a copy of her report and findings. I couldn't believe it. I got a 4-page report; I've never received a written report from my other PTs (other than Tom). If anyone lives in NY City or surrounding areas, I highly recommend Pam. Aside from her technical knowledge she's a very loving, caring, compassionate woman and has a POSITIVE, CAN-DO attitude. This condition does not scare her.. she WILL tackle it. Every health care professional I've seen (and my PTs) has this look of doom and gloom on their face about this condition. I walked away with so much hope, and hope is huge. Please visit Pam's website at www.pamelamorrisonpt.com. Tom, I'd love for you to contact her. I think you both could learn a lot from each other. While Pam is an advanced physical therapist in her own right, I'd love to see her educated on your 'alternative' approach

to PT (although she does do manipulations and you totally advise against that). If anyone would like to know more, email me at kbrbon@... Wishing everyone a blessed, pain-free year ahead!
