Guest guest
, My husband and I also did the hallelujah diet for some time. We were all but orange from so much beta carotene from the carrot juice. That was really hurting our thyroid glands but we didn't know that then. I definately think we need organic, pasture feed meat, eggs, raw milk in our diets. Juicing is good but not as much as that diet called for. Deborah Re: Are Raw Foods a Problem for Thyroid Ailments? Reba, Thanks for this info! Interesting! I've been on the Hallelujah diet (www.hacres.com) which is mostly raw foods and had great improvements even with my thyroid. My dosage went down several times. But it's a difficult diet to stay on. IMO, I think it's great for detoxing our bodies making us healthier but long term, I think after a year or so we near to add back in some meat, eggs, maybe yogurt, but not alot, and preferably organic. Following the diet, all the aspects, I did have more energy. in Va. ----- Here's a Dr Weil website. http://www.drweil.com/app/cda/drw_cda.html-command=TodayQA- questionId=34947 http://www.drweil.com/app/cda/drw_cda.html-command=QALibrary- pt=Question-topicId=
Guest guest
Hi, Deborah, I was hypothyroid then but funny, I didn't turn orange. But I knew someone who did. But he hasn't stopped and that's been a few years ago. LOL I thought the slow metabolism that we have might cause the orange due to being slow to turn the beta carotene into vitamin A. I know the liver would be involved too. How was it hurting your thyroid? Of course, everyone is different. But my thyroid improved. Some people told me it wasn't a good idea to drink the Barleygreen (BarleyMax) with kelp, but I did anyway, without a problem. I feel like the diet is good for about a year or so to detox well, and then add in those things you speak of. in Va. , My husband and I also did the hallelujah diet for some time.
