Welcome Home, JoAnn

I can't help you with the methadone, but I'm sure someone here can. Good to see you posting and know that you're still with us.

We have another member in NYC, I am not that far away, we've got some from Southern NJ, etc. I do get into the city often, as a matter of fact, I am going in this evening for a show.

We will, somehow, try to get together someday.

Hugs,

Jo

JoAnn,

No problem at all, if I can ever be of help to anyone then it's all worth it. In my experience, the Lexapro was a bit hard at first, but I have had a hard time with all the anti-depressants I have tried. I don't get more than a few hours sleep at a time and the first week maybe it was hard and I didnt' feel good in the morning. Also, my doctor started me out at an extremely low dose since I have had so many problems with the anti-depressants. The lowest dose is 10 mg and I started with 1/4 of a tablet. So if you've had problems in the past definitely start low on this one. But everyone is different...Tonia I think it is takes 20mg in the morning and doesn't get sleepy from it. As for the percocet, I don't remember everything you are on but I'm on the 10/325's every 4-6 hours. It is above Vicodin ES 7.5's if you have ever been on those. I think it is the next pill above Vicodin but lower than say Demerol. I don't know if this helps or not. Maybe you can find some information on WebMD or something like that. I hope you are feeling well and again, it is so good to see you back. = ) Lori

Lori thank you for telling me about the Lexapro....does it leave you having hard time waking up in morning if have had less than 5 to 6 hours sleep? I take Hydrocodone 10/660 3x's day with the Duragesic patches and have been on Effexor for years. I take 220 of the Duragesic and change on 3rd day. Like put new ones on Sunday and will put new ones on again Wed. I do not know how Percocet works or would work on me as think only been given to me couple times while in hospital. Does anyone know how much stronger it may be compared to what take already. Think my Duragesic dose is thought of as high by alot of pain doctors but not sure. Again thank you Lori as can always use advise and information.

Re: Methadone

Tonia and JoAnn,

thanks for reminding me about the breakthough pain Tonia. Are you taking anything for in between JoAnn? I'm on Percocet every 4-6 hours as well. and Oxycontin 80mg 3 times a day. I'm on a few other meds but also want to mention the anti-depressant I'm on. It's something you might want to consider if you are not sleeping well at night. Doctors use it for people in chronic pain mainly for 2 reasons - to help them sleep and most of them work on the part of your brain that registers pain. I'm on Lexapro 10mg at night, but I know people take others too. Just something you might want to mention to your doctor. Hope this helps, feel better!

JoAnn,

I would love to get to know you better, from what I know of you now you are a wonderful person with such a kind heart, I know my life will be better from having you in it. I hope things are calming down a little bit for you, you've had so much going on right now that you don't deserve. How is doing with her accident? I pray that the gasoline has not affected her RSD - please let me know how you are both doing.

<hugs> Lori
