Guest guest
That's weird! I had a very bad reaction to Epinephrine the last time I went to my dentist...in fact they marked it in my chart not to give it to me again...I'm hypo. The lido is to numb your gums/mouth and the Epi is to constrict the blood vessels and reduce bleeding...don't know why they think you need it more than other people? Altered Taste > P.S. I mentioned in passing to my dentist that I have Hashimoto's > Thyroiditis and he said that he was glad I mentioned that because he > will have to give me an injection of Epinephrine and Lidocane before > doing any procedure. What's up with that?
Guest guest
, Why did they give you the epi in the first place? Because you are hypo? > I should explain that my bad reaction was because he shot this stuff into a > vein in my mouth, lol...It shot through me like you wouldn't believe...I > jumped up out of the chair ...it was horrible...my heart was beating so > fast...felt like electricity shooting through my arms and legs...the famous > Fight or Flight reaction...x 10...awful.. > > > Altered Taste > > > > > P.S. Guest guest
-My last dentist would not put the epi in my needle because of my heart palps. It's not as strong, so they have to give me at least three shots lol. wrote: > , > > Why did they give you the epi in the first place? Guest guest
How do you know what they are shooting you with? (Unless you ask.) I know when I had my wisdom teeth pulled it took hours for the numbness to go away (and bleeding to stop.) Louise - who had 4 wisdom teeth pulled 1 at a time with a local!!!! > No just because I was having work done on a tooth. I think it's the common > thing that they do. Now when I have work done they only use the Lido...no > more Epi for me, lol..I'd had it years prior without a problem...but like I > said he hit a vein & that is what caused me to have the big reaction <I > think> > I didn't know that I was hypo then. > > > > > Re: Altered Taste > > > > , > > > > Why did they give you the epi in the first place?
