Guest guest
> My kidneys are in good condition. Glad to hear about your kidneys, mine have had a slight leak for years, it was there when I was diagnosed with diabetes but my physician tells me that that is no reason to limit protein intake. > I am a protein type. I guess that makes all the difference! What do you think about canned tuna in water? It is practically all protein. Bodybuilders go for it in a big way! Guest guest
> 1 egg for breakfast and 3 1/2 oz > protein for lunch and dinner and According to my reckoning, the conversion from ounzes to grams is to multiply ounzes by 28.4, so 3.5 oz protein is 100 grams of protein. I wasn't sure if this was 3 1/2 oz for both lunch and dinner together or each. I don't see how you get 3.5 oz = 24 grams, though. Where did I go wrong? 79 grams of protein per day is quite modest - I get more than that and I reckon mine is on the low side! Guest guest
I don't favor controversy for the sake of controversy, ...remember, stress makes BGs go up! Yes the group is quiet...I think we must just have a lot of lurkers because the membership is still pretty good sized. I still think heredity plays a VERY large part in obesity In my years on the lists I've read over and over again all the people who have lost...then gained it back...then lost...then gained it back again, etc. And all of them have obese family members. OTOH, the most I've ever been overweight was by 10 pounds - and I quickly lost that when I was first hit by LADA and never gained it back. Yes, I picked good non-obese parents, smile. I don't know how old you are, , but most people have found that the older they are, the harder it is to lose weight. I don't have studies to cite but I've sure read/heard a lot of anecdotes to that effect. As far as Dr. Mercola's " metabolic type " theory, I remember a while back there was someone who had a theory that blood type determined appropriate foods to eat. I sort of group his metabolic theory in that camp....nonsense. I used to get his newsletter but I just couldn't subscribe to some of his beliefs, so I finally dropped it. Guest guest
>lost...then gained it back...then lost...then gained it back again, etc. I agree vicki i am of the grp that gains and loses and yes losing it as i get closer to 40 gets harder lord knows what it will be like by the time i go past 40 my parents are both over weight but on diff types of diets! for myself the moment i relax on the carbs i gain lb per week from today i am starting a strict control watching every morsal entering my mouth. its amazing how much we eat mindlessly without registering small bits as food. i just finished lunch: salad, turkey and some spicy tomatoes(curry) but i am already thinking about whats in the fridge!!! have to stay distracted!! i love carbs but i hate the effect on my bs and weight!!! cheeky _________________________________________________________________ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
