Hopefully, they will speak up and let you all know about it, because they said that it was really easy to use! One sight they were like 800-1000 dollars. The IBM had an offer for the program at $29.95 and they said normally was $189.99, plus they are giving the headphone and microphone free, which is a $199.00 value. Seems kinda fishy to me, plus at the end it says the Retail Box shown is for display only, it doesn't come with the box. It does say 30 day money back, but who knows online, ya know? I think I may check at Office Depot or somewhere like that to see what I can find first. If they are around 800, there's no way I can do it. I'll let you know! LoriGood Evening Lori, The two most widely known voice typing systems are the IBM via Voice, and Naturally Speaking by Dragon. Naturally Speaking is so popular that there are a number of Internet sites that offer assistance to users and tips to improve its' performance. It is also compatible with most Microsoft Products, including e-mail programs. There was a great deal of interest in this software when the carpel tunnel syndrome first hit the mainstream. In those days the problems deal with the speed at which the software could understand the speech. Humans spoke at an average of 120 words per minute and the software could only handle 90 words per minute. The cost of the speech recognition software was quite expensive back in those days, but has dropped a great deal since then. The wide variety of pricing is due to the size of the library of speech that the software can understand, and the amount of software that the product is compatible with. I understand that the lower priced software can be adequate for most people, but it takes a little searching to find what will fit your specific needs. I am probably going to suggest this type of software as a way to assist me to the company I work for. They are very good about providing assistance so that you can continue working with a health problem. If I find out any further information for you I will pass it on. I would think that what you do would be a perfect use of this software. It would reduce the issue of the carpel tunnel, and with all of those price books, and you working at home, the speech recognition software would be perfect.
