Hi,

I went to my internist this morning to have him look at the SCS site and he said it was definitely infected and that there where actually three spots that looked bad.

I finally heard from my pain doc's office and he said that I was just there on Friday and everything was all right. Now I can't get into an argument with him about how he left the room before I was even done and I wasn't about to chase him around the office.

I also had called on Thursday to say the leads where itching like crazy and the machine was cutting off.

I can't help it if he doesn't get the messages as this is how he wants the office to run. He is to busy to talk except during appointments and he is the one that decides when appointments are over. I am so angry I wish I could get someone around here to take it out.

Felice,

Just a thought, would your internist call your pain doctor's office? Maybe he will listen to him out of professional courtesy. I am appalled at how your pain dr. treated you last visit, we had the same type of problem once when my mom was hospitialized, the cardio simply stopped talking and left the room, we thought he was returning but nope. My brother and I waited for him to walk out of the next patient's room and cornered him, he didn't think much of it but he did go back into mom's room (CICU) and finish explaining everything to her and us and he apologized somewhat for being so abrupt.

From then on he was sweet as pie.

Did your internist give you anything for the infection or itching?

Take care,

Hoping for Pain Free Days,Sandi

Thanks Barbara, yes that is defnitely better than the burning. I'm sending my application out to the pain center tomorrow and then go from there. If they accept me and I can afford it I guess I'll try it first before the SCS, but they may not even take me at this stage. Thanks for all of the help!Lori

Lori - Paresthesia is a strong pins and needles feeling.....not altogether pleasant by any means but an improvement over the burning Barbara

Hi All,

It's Out!

The SCS was taken out yesterday and there was infection and what the nurse referred to as some yucky fluid in there. The doc sent out several samples for Biopsy and hopefully it will just be a plain old infection

I am pretty sore with 21 staples between the two sites. However I slept for a straight three hours last night and didn't wake up soaked with sweat.

Now if the day time sweats and chills will go away I'll really be thrilled.

Hope everyone else who had surgery on Monday is doing really well.

Felice,

I am so happy it is out and you are starting to get some sleep! I will pray that everything comes out ok and the infection clears up real quick. Please get some rest and keep us posted as much as you can.

<hugs> Lori

Felice - I hope that they have gotten you started on some SERIOUS antibiotics.....Glad it's all behind you and hope that you soon start feeling more comfortable. Not fun. Barbara

Felice,

Does the doctor think the sweats were coming from the infection? I feel so bad for you that you have had to put up with all this over the past several months. I hope you are on your way to a speedy recovery from the infection and the pain from the removal and staples lessens. Three hours of straight sleep must have felt darn good and without sweats, even better.

Take care,

Sandi
