Guest guest
Deb, I don't think it's so much that a teen's personality is still forming, as it is that the teenage years are a time of vast, turbulent changes. The impression I got from my daughter's HMO was that they're looking for teens with BPD traits to settle down around the age of 18. Getting treatment--the appropriate intervention you mentioned--would tend to help that along. Meredith ----- On one of the many online resource sites I've read in the past 24 hours, I saw that it is unusual for people to be diagnosed with BPD before the age of 18, as it is believed that teenagers' personalities are still forming. For those of you with far more knowledge of this disorder than I have - is that true? Does that mean that there is a possibility that she doesn't actually have the disorder, but is heading that way without appropriate intervention?
