Guest guest
Hi, Does anybody know why the ProEFA is not on the website? Thanks, Anita bcbu91 <beanpot@...> wrote: you can call them and still order it. Only the consumer line is available on the webpage according to the phone rep. Change was made a couple months ago apparently.

Guest guest
Yes, Complete Omega is on the website, is it the same thing???? I wasn't sure what to order when I went into the website a couple of days ago because I didn't see Proefa either.
Guest guest
In addition to what I wrote below -the ProEFA is probably not up on the NN website because as of January 1st Nordic Naturals is raising the price again...around $1.20 more per bottle -so NN will be charging 23? 24? dollars a bottle now for the same bottle of ProEFA. Figures that as cheap as fish oil is when you buy it just about anywhere else - the cheap one that we found worked has within just two years become the Godiva of fish oils price wise. There is more than one fish in the sea as they say. A little birdie told me that there are other places that may sell the same product for lots less. (or buy another brand with a similar formula -or you can make your own by mixing fish oil with either a small amount of primrose or borage seed oil) Don't stress -it's just fish oil. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: " kiddietalk " <kiddietalk@...> Date: Tue Dec 30, 2003 8:53 am Subject: Re: is it discontinued??? " Nope " Hi , To answer your questions yes two similar EFA formulas would be the brand names of Efalex or EyeQ as reported here. Not to say there are not others too -just make sure it's a high quality oil since many brands are rancid (oxygen and fish oil don't mix well) ...or you could buy good quality fish oils and add to it a very small amount of borage seed or primrose oil to create the correct ratios. Not sure why the ProEFA is not on the Nordic website -but I know for a fact through the original and for awhile only parent source of ProEFA -Shop-In Service, it's not discontinued. As I've said before -NN really never wanted or were supposed to sell the professional line of the product to the public/parents, nor are they allowed to be sold in stores -the " Pro " line was only allowed to be sold to and distributed by health care professionals. As parents you are supposed to purchase the Complete Omega Ultimate Omega with borage oil (the more expensive commercial line which is also allowed to be carried in stores) This is what all of us were told way back then when we did the first feedback with it -long before the First Apraxia Conference. If you read the history of ProEFA and apraxia -it's due to the work of CHERAB that you can now find ProEFA online by various online merchants. http://www.cherab.org/information/historyEFA.html Resources for various EFA brands: http://www.cherab.org/information/dietaryeffects/efabasics.html http://www.speech-express.com/alternative-therapy/efa-sources.html =====
Guest guest
Just to let everyone know - I called NN last Friday (1/2/04) to order ProEfa - it was on the website under the professionals section along with ProEfa liquid. I asked the woman at the (800) number what the difference was between the Compete Omega and the ProEfa and she said nothing (reading the ingredients confirms that!) - the ProEfa is simply the label they put on the supps for professionals who use it in their practices. The Complete Omega (pills and liquid) are the ones available to the general public and what you would ask for if you bought them at a health food store or something like that. The NN website has a link that will tell you where the nearest store is at which you can buy the Complete Omega. I wound up ordering the pills (for DH and me - why not, it's good for heart health too!) and the liquid for Josh (switching from a different supp - have questions about this but it's in a different email!) - pills don't need to be refrigerated but should be kept in a cool spot, liquid must be kept in fridge after opening. Finally, you can print/download (with Adobe) the catalog listing ProEfa and all the products - also has the (800) number for ordering purposes. Guest guest
Sherry, Less pills in the Complete than Pro-efa bottles which makes it more costly. Also inquire about the NN Omega club where you get regular shipments every other month automatically with free shipping and a 10% discount. They ship automatically and bill a credit card. Shipments can be suspended or changed at any time. denise > Just to let everyone know - I called NN last Friday (1/2/04) to order > ProEfa - it was on the website under the professionals section along > with ProEfa liquid. Guest guest
Sherry, Often times the capsule itself can cause heartburn. My husband has lots of esophageal and reflux problems. his doctor told him no capsules only tablets and especially nothing like the gel capsules. Judi [ ] Re: ProEFA not on NN website, but... Guest guest
- Thanks - I forgot that's what she told me as well. She didn't mention the Omega Club though. That sounds like a good idea! Guest guest
udi - Thanks, that's very interesting! I have acid reflux myself but no one ever mentioned problems with capsules. We don't give Josh the capsule itself (not something he would swallow) - we prick the capsule with a pin and squeeze out the stuff - so that probably is not related to what the urping/burping thing is that he is going through. Thanks again. Sherry > Sherry, > Often times the capsule itself can cause heartburn.
