Are you taking suppliments with it? You might need to increase some of the

antioxidant ones. Another possibility is to decrease the dose of ALA, and

then slowly increase the dose.

tried chelation yesterday.......scary

Hello, its been 7 months since i had my amalgams removed and thought

that id try chelation with ALA only....I havnt done any DMSA or

anything else.....

I took 30mg of LA 4 times with 3 hours inbetween just 2 try it....

felt warm and kinda high, obsessive feelings also rose and

anxiety....its been 24 hours since i stopped and i still feel kinda

iki and spaced out....2 be honest it is kinda scary.....

Any input and personal experiences would be welcome........

i'm begining 2 think that it was too soon.......

Hi,

It is not too soon to start, you could have started with DMSA after

amalgam removal. You may need to use some DMPS or DMSA to lower the

body burden first, this is suggested by Andy. He also suggests using

one or the other with the ALA. You may also need to start with a

lower dosage and actually do a full round - 3 days. I could not

tollerate more than 12.5mg to start. Using the same amount of DMPS

with ALA helps tremendously for me in reducing side effects.

Supplements are also important.

The side effects you mention are common and can last a few days

especially doing an abreviated round where there will be more Hg

redistribution.

Hi Dave,

I've never heard this part before. Did you get it from AndY or

somewhere else? It would be an important point for me because I

think that I am severely poisoned. But I think that I fit the

category of heavy poisoning long time ago, so most severe in my

brain. You think I would be better to try the one week on, one week

off?

Thanks

Yes, Andy tells me there is a rat paper in which repeated large doses of

DMSA with too long in between lead to concentration of the Hg in motor

neurons. The point being that if you keep liberating some Hg, letting

it redeposit, liberating some more, letting it redeposit, ... then

because of a slightly higher affinity of Hg for neural tissue, you are

slowly but inexorably moving the Hg into the neural system. Clearly the

same would be true if you used DMPS or ALA, but in the latter case it

would move into the brain in addition to the motor neurons.

So, the point is to do a round long enough so that you remove enough

from the neural system so that the redistribution back into the neural

system at the end is _smaller_ than the cumulative amount you have

removed from the neural system over the length of the cycle. This will

cearly be dose dependent (the higher the dose the more potential

redistribution) and, assuming that the more toxic you are the more

easily Hg dumps into the bloodstream due to the presence of a given

amount of chelator, it will also depend on how poisoned you are.

On the other hand, the more poisoned you are, the more likely you are to

have side effects in the face of a long chelation cycle. So, you want

to decrease dose and increase time. There are people in bad enough

shape that they just keep putting a tiny bit of DMSA under their tongue

on a continual basis. One such person is on the autism-mercury list

now.

---------------------

What I meant was that I had an intensification of certain " psychic "

symptoms on the round, even though the physical experience was better (I

was less tired). The psychic symptoms were frightening. When I got off

the round, I was back to feeling tired, but they intensity of the

psychic symptoms abated. After a few rounds I found that some of the

improvement stuck. That is, off round I began to feel less tired. I

won't go into more details here, but you can look at a pretty full

descrition that I gave recently on autism-mercury, if you are so

inclined.

Dave.

I dont understand what u mean by " some of the improvements stick

after i go off a round "

when i chelated, I felt worse, not better...

can u describe what the first 2 rounds were like.....

it's obvious from ur history, having removed the fillings 15 years

ago that body mercury is normal...and if u do have excess amounts of

mercury, its gonna be in ur brain...so i wanna know what chelation

feels like when its all brain mercury....

Also wouldnt the redistribution of mercury be related 2 the dose,

not the length of time??? since the amount of mercury mobilized is

proportional 2 the dose...since u r keeping a steady level of the

chelator in the blood stream, u r also keeping a steady level of

free mercury in the blood stream, and when u stop, that mercury gets

redistributed...

I thought the need 2 keep a steady level of chelator in the blood,

was 2 minimize the amount of redistribution compared 2 the amount

chelated.

i.e 2 maximise amount chelated

--------------------

amount redistributed

I thought the amount redistributed is the same 4 a given dose no

matter how long the cycle....

the only thing that changes 4 longer cyles, is the amount chelated

which increases with longer cycles..
