It was nice getting to talk with you and Dan yesterday as well. As for Graham's fussiness, it is completely normal. As (the guy who " made " the brace said, he is used to being able to move his legs separately and now needs to learn to use them together. It just takes a couple days (in most cases). The first day and night Jakob had his brace, whenever he was awake, he cried. It was rough, but we got through it. On a side note, you saw how he was trying to put it on himself while waiting for Graham's to be finished. Yes, folks, you read it right, Jakob tried to put the brace on himself!!! The man that changed his shoes said he had always seen the kids trying to take it off, not put it on. Even though we are so far removed from the castings, I am still in awe of the success stories others share. My name is Joy, my husband is Neil, and my one-year-old daughter is Rose! Rose was born with a left clubfoot, and started to receive treatment from Dr. Ponseti when she was 6 months old. If you would like to read her story, the link is below my signature. Thank you for sharing Graham's story. I know what you mean about Dr. Ponseti being a master. I hope Graham is able to adjust to the brace soon. It did take Rose a couple of days. She cried when we put it on for several months, but now she finally reads her cow book and doesn't make a peep except to moo! Try putting the brace on when you have your husband with you, or someone to divert Graham's attention. Have them read or play. It didn't work right away for us, but it does now. Sometimes what iI would do, is get the shoes and straps on, and have Neil tie the laces while I nursed Rose. BEst wishes!! Graham sounds like Rose needing to be held all the time - my husband complains after holding her for 10 minutes! I'm like, am I actually stronger than you here?! hehe She's 19 pounds now, and thank goodness she will crawl, so I'm getting a break! Unless we go visiting, and she doesn't like to be without mommy! I believe my daughter Emma is RSS. She is 2yrs. 10 mns. old. 22lbs., 30 in. I had tried to post a picture of her but do not think I was successful. Can anyone offer some tips? I just printed some info. on the convention and have been giving some thought to attending. We live in Indiana, so would not be a bad trip for us.
