Hi,

hope this helps. Our daughter had the same problems beginning at one months

old, she is now 21 months. She tood Propulsid (which cut down on the

vomiting) and zantac. The ONLY formula that worked for her was Alimentum

and/or Nutrmaigen. She uses the enzyme Creon 10, but getting enzymes in her

at your childs age was the most difficult thing of all. Not until she could

eat baby food did the enzymes go right down the hatch unnoticed by her. At

any rate, zantac and propulsid have worked wonders for her. She has mostly

only GI and sinus problems. Has been hospitalized 14 times, but none

recently.

Hi ! My son, Levi is 13 months old. He was also

born with intestinal blockage, but didn't require

surgery. We live in Ohio.

Do you have other children? We have R.C., who is five,

and Cheyenne, who is three. Levi is the only one with

cf.

I know what you mean about the little ones getting into

stuff! It gets pretty crazy around here! I plan to

homeschool R.C. next year, so it will be all the more

hectic!

It's great to have you on the list!

hey, i have a similar problem...

we live in houston and it is just stifling from about march until november! i

have two boys, as well, a 5 year old (grayson) who has cf and a 2 year old

(bailey) who does not.

anyway, to keep grayson hydrated, i go heavy on water and the sports drinks.

he has his own water bottle in the fridge that i keep filled with juice,

water, gatorade...whatever. he thinks he is pretty cool with his own " grown-

up " bottle, so he hits it pretty hard. also, i make sure the teachers at

school let him drink whenever he wants, and even when he doesn't!

the best trick is to keep plenty of popscicles around. i freeze any tasty

liquid and allow free access to the freezer.

**just as important is to replenish the SALT....not just the liquid. i make it

a habit to put salt in and on everything (including his milk).

take care!

Hello Tom and Welcome!

My name is and I also have two boys with cf; who will be 6 next

Thursday and Cody who is 3. They are both doing excellent - but too had extreme

trouble in the past. We

live in Phx, AZ (HOT HOT HOT) and starting to have the problems of not getting

enough fluids in them again.

If you or anyone out there have any good ideas of how to keep these two from

getting dehydrated, please let me know. The sports drinks work ok, but I tend to

just keep the kids

inside when it starts to get hot like this because it seems like I can never

keep enough fluids in them.

Again, Tom, Welcome to the list!

Take care,

Hello,

Welcome to the group !!! My name is Kim D. I had surgery in June of 99.

I have been trying to get pg for what seems to be a long time :-)

I am going on about 6 weeks. I am following the Atkins plan, which I have

been on for about 4 months, I am adding more fruit, veggies and some milk.

Good luck!!
