I've been on primarin for years. Took provera for years too. After the big H.

I no longer needed the provera.

Kathie, you have done fantastic!!! I have been dabbling in atkins for 2

years. This time I have been on for 2 months and have between a 16 and 22

lb loss. It varies because I am taking a hormone therapy right now.

Yes Kathie, you are doing well! I like to add a little exercise, a brisk

walk, tae bo, sit ups... that is what I do. You don't have to exercise

though.

Pete, I have major female problems, too many to get into.... I had my

fourth surgery in January after having my period for 3 months straight,

prior to that, absence for 3 months, I have not had my TOM since January 11

so I am taking provera to try to force one on. Meanwhile, I am a tad

bloated!!! I think it causes my emotions to go haywire and my weight loss

too.....

You caught me!! No just kidding, I am a software/hardware consultant for an

IBM business partner. I have followed Atkins plans for a couple of years

(through the good and bad!!, ups and downs) I am currently in a down, but I

am still here for all of you.... can't be selfish at times like this. As

far as what I eat:

Breakfast: I always keep the precooked oscar mayer bacon handy...I usually

have about 5 slices for bkfst during the week, I add eggs and country ham

on weekends.

Snacks: Slim jims, macadamia nuts, almonds, pepperjack cheese, cheese

snacks (microwaved cheese) dipped in salsa or sour cream dip, diet jello,

pepperoni, ham pinwheels (with cream cheese)

Lunch: Either salad with grilled chicken(Louis Rich makes it already

cooked in strips), hamburger (no bun) with cheese, bacon, chili, mustard,

or grilled chicken with same toppings, leftovers from night before, chicken

salad on lettuce

Dinner: Any darn thing I want (okay, not anything) grilled chicken, any

kind of steak on the grill, shrimp, pork tenderloin, pork barbecue,

keilbasa, lasagna, mock chicken pizza, roast beef w/au jus, asparagus,

string beans, salad, fried chicken, oh the list goes on.

I drink a whole lot of water during the day, and only have diet drink once

a week (mixed with a little liquor... gotta be honest) or I have a couple

of beers on Friday.

Chris...what do you do in real life? I am curious! You are so

informative...are you Dr. Atkins in disquise? Anyway, got a question for

you...can you write down a typical Atkins day? Breakfast, lunch, dinner?

Nothing fancy, just something we all might have in the house.

Is there something we can take for constipation other than the stalks stuff

that is recommended by the Dr.? Is their something over the counter that

is good?

Thanks Chris...

Hi there! My name is Celia, and I'm a caterer from NJ.....two of my

waiters lost like MEGA pounds on the atkins, so I thought I'd try it to

lose 20 lbs that I, of course, have lost several times already... (not

so bad being a caterer....I have access to fresh mozzarella about all

the time :-)

I have two quickie questions...One is, can I drink champagne? and two,

can I have diet pepsi or diet caffiene free ice tea?

thanks!!

more later( or hopefully, less later...)

Hi Kathie! The sausages should be fine, there is some controversy out

there, but I have not heard of it affecting anybody's weight loss. As far

as the dressing goes, that is a toughy, you are not supposed to have any

sugars for the 1st 2 weeks.... But generally the 1 carb in salad dressing

is from sugar! I would try to get salad dressings that specifically state

<1g carb, there are lots out there! Just watch out for those hidden carbs

Kathie, they tend to jump up and bite ya in the * & %!!!

Kathie, like I said, there are few out there that don't have sugar. The

label will say less than 1, sugars may still say 1 but that may be the best

you can do. Ever so often I come across one that lists 0 for everything.

Glad you are watching for the bites now! LOL!!!

Hi Celia ;)

I'm a newbie too :) Yes all diet drinks are fine, they have no carbs

in them. I have no idea about Champagne... I don't see it in my carb

book :(

*smiles*

Felicia ;)

Celia, I personally stay away from diet drinks or anything with aspartame

in it, it keeps me from losing weight. Champagne would probably be the

same as wine in carbs, but the answer would be that during the first 14

days, you should not have anything such as this. After the induction

period, you may have champagne in MODERATION.
