Guest guest
Martha, I am so sorry for you. The best thing you could do is just get in bed and nurse as much as possible. Again that is so horrible. Its bad enough you were hurt but to be separated from nursing is just too much. I will put something in my car and my wallet today. Thanks for warning us and get well soon. Wendi advice From: Fafahahema@... I need to share something with everyone....one week ago today I was in a car accident that knocked me unconcouis (sp?) and unable to tell the EMT's and doctors at the hospital that I was breastfeeding. If wasn't known to them until my husband got to the hospital and told them that I was breastfeeding. It was already too late. I was given medication that is contradicted in b/f. I wasn't hurt very badly just a concussion from being knocked out and a broken ankle. So what I am trying to say is that ladies....PLEASE put something in your wallet stating that you are breastfeeding just incase you are in a situation that you are unable to tell someone. I had to pump and dump for 4 days while I watched my little taking a bottle of formula. We are trying to get back to exclusively b/f, but is taking a toll on me and her. I am glad to be home and back semi-operating. =)... I had to delete most of mail because I didn't want my box to get full and I was very uncomfortable sitting here at the desk. So if I missed anything REALLY good let me know. Now.... GO PUT THAT MESSAGE IN YOUR WALLET NOW!!!!!!!!!!! loves and hugs to all, Martha ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ONElist members are using Shared Files in great ways! http://www.onelist.com Are you? I am so sorry you had to go through this but you have given excellent advice. An accident like this is something nobody ever wants to think about but unfortunately it happens. I wish you a speedy recovery and hope that and you are back to b/f exclusively very soon. God Bless!

Guest guest
Martha, That was some good advice you gave! I am so sorry to hear about your accident. I have been battling with the flu for the past several days, but you gave me some perspective! I do hope everything that was injured in the accident recovers quickly. I know your darling will be back to the breast exclusively SOON! xo

You will never know when you may need it. I read one book that said you should have a 2 week supply in your frezer. I know I have at least that now and Before I donated all my milk I very well could of had a month So hand express or pump if you don't want your baby to have formula. Guest guest
Having a freezer stash is a good idea, but WOW!, a 2 week stash is a lot! That would probably be about 14 x 30 oz = 420 oz for us. I'm a pretty good pumper (I work full-time now) and my freezer stash is only about 60-80 ozs. Nevertheless, even if you only had a small freezer stash, it would be extremely helpful in an emergency. mom to Bart 1/22/99 --- Feb98@... wrote: > From: Feb98@... > This is also a very good reason why you need to have a > back up stash in your > frezer.
