Guest guest
, My daughter is on neurontin (300mg. X 3, and effexor 150mg. and 75 mg. She claims the effexor has been the only med to help her depression. As I said, the neurontin lessens the raging. She does not have a problem with weight gain on these. This is a huge issue for her- she has struggled with anorxia and bulemia in the past. She still becomes depressed frequently and cries uncontrollably. In part because she continually messes her life up. Unfortunately, she continues to abuse alcohol and drugs and she is getting in trouble legally because of this. She has had lengthy treatment for substance abuse in the last couple of years. Nothing seems to work for her. However,my husband and I did benefit enormously from the groups provided for parents. I guess she hasn't fallen long and hard enough, yet. We hope she will come to the realization that drugs and alcohol are seriously interfering with her life. We hope she stays alive long enough to come to this realization. Medication is obviously not the only answer, but in her case it does help her life and ours to be more bearable. Self medicating destroys her life and ours.
Guest guest
Ann, My 15 BPD Dtr. was on Seroquel for a couple of months. She complained of being tired all the time but we are not sure if that was the Seroquel or one of her other meds. I never felt it did her any good and I asked her new Dr. to take her off. He agreed and instructed us to ween her off and watch her for any new behaviors or problems. We never saw a difference from being on the Seroquel to not being on it. She is now on Kalith 450 mg x2 a day, and 30 mg. Lexapro. She is doing very well. Take Care Mistress Theresa Hoping to shine a new light into a beautifully dark life.
