Guest guest
-------Original Message------- I was at one time one of my towns best hair dressers. felt good to at least give advise about it since I can do it. Didnt mean to write a book lol. Jeannie ============================================================================= You know something, you could actually post things here in this group if it would help you. Each week, post something about hair care....and, with a twist, you could come up with idea's for those of us that are on those kinds of meds to be able to do perms and colors, or, ways to make it easier for those who can't lift their arms up for very long, different products that would help do odds and ends to make things easier..... But, also just normal, regular hair care things. And, maybe have it to where we could ask you a question that you could answer at times during each week. It would not only be good for you, to not only help you feel like that part of your life is still there.....but it would also help us with ways to take care of our hair, beauty care and whatever else you may be able to help us with. What do ya think? I would especially like it....I have really bad Iron water due to having a Deep Well since I live in a small town that isn't considered a town....and have nothing considered "City water". I have a very hard time getting the Iron out of my hair....its orange at times...and without going to a Hairdresser, using the perm solution without the rods or cutting my hair....I don't know of any other way of doing it, that I can afford! There are probably many other women here that would agree with me on this.....that having a Post each week with this topic would be Great! Guest guest
I could sure benefit from that!! My hair is so curly I never know the best way to get it cut. I always ask the hairdresser but have a hard time finding a good one. I think the last girl that cut my hair did a good job but it would be nice to get other ideas on what to do with it! Guest guest
Thats a wonderful idea if anyone has questions please ask. men too. i would be glad to help. As far as well water i use to have well water and I got a water purifying connection for my sink faucet and washed my hair in the sink. The orange is coming from a iron buildup. If you've ever had a perm with the well water I'm sure the towel was purple. But you can also do a acid wash on your hair with white vinegar but that can be drying too. The best conditioner for the drying is infusium ( can get at Sally's or walmart) not sure if thats spelled right. But well water can do damage to the hair just as bad as meds. They have a shampoo at Sally's called Shimmering Lights its for graying hair it takes the yellow build up off gray hair but can help not remove the orange from well water. Well water is so harsh it builds up on the hair shaft and prevents moisture from getting threw. I would wash in the sink. Also if you have white clothes turning orange from your water again add white vinegar the wash it helps.Tonia wrote: -------Original Message------- I was at one time one of my towns best hair dressers. felt good to at least give advise about it since I can do it. Guest guest
Yup....exactly...purple towels, orange or ruined laundry.....I hate it. Luckily, this last summer, my FIL went and got us a Water Softener.....after living in this house for 11 years. He got one for his own house that is next door to us, and figured that since I have complained for 11 years about it, and my birthday was just a few days away......he'd go and rent a water softener for me!! See, in his house, it used to be his Parent's house and his dad died in 89. He bought the house and farm in 2000 from his mother who was still living there....so that when he did put her in the nursing home, the whole thing would stay in the family and the Nursing Home couldn't take it. Years before, he had went and actually bought a water softener at Sam's Club for the house. Well, when it broke down a year or so later..... it would of cost more to fix it than it cost to begin with cause it was on a discontinue sale. So, to make it easier so that we didn't have to worry about paying for someone to fix the water softener or anything....at either house, he just went to the local Culligan dealer and told them to install them. If anything needs to be fixed, they come up and fix it for nothing. $19 a month to have it in my house. $6 every 2 months for 2 bags of salt. Gene's Dad told us that since it was He that ordered it and had it installed, all of the paper work is in is name.....that there was no way that Gene can get it taken out now. His mother pays the $25 a month for us. His dad also told Gene (my husband, by the way) that for one, it was a birthday present for me, but, he mainly did it because Gene's Sister had literally taken all of their trust and used it against them to get money from them constantly, to go to the Casino every night....and they paid all of her bills....while we have always paid ours. This was a way for him to try and make things right. I have tried vinegar....it doesn't help any....but, I WILL look for that shampoo that you mentioned. I've done that before....gone to get Shampoo that is for Gray Hair to get the yellow out.....but it has to be a Blue Color. ONLY Blue will work. Purple does somewhat..... Thanks Jeannie......with 2 girls also that have long ratty hair.... I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions once I get some sleep! tonia -------Original Message------- Thats a wonderful idea if anyone has questions please ask. men too. i would be glad to help.
