Guest guest
Hello accuscript1@... (accuscript1), In reference to your comment: è Now I'm wondering if the school had the fourth graders è write these or something. The handwriting looks like è an adult's but elfs? I'm doing good? Doesn't sound like è the teacher wrote it.... Yup, sounds like other children wrote the letters. Nice writing practice I suppose, but I still don't like the idea that the children in your son's class would accept these letters as actually from Santa. I'd be really curious to know if the children were informed in advance this was all pretend for writing practice or do the ones in kindergarden think they are really from Santa. Guest guest
Ben is home now and brought his letter with him. Here it is verbatim (mistakes and all). The mistakes make me wonder who actually wrote this: " Dear Ben, How are you doing. I'm doing good. I got a letter from you that you want a bow and arrow, a magic set, a car, and rollerskates. Wow! I'll get you the bet bow and arrow my elfs can make. That magic set, not one of my letters had a magic set in it. I can't believe you want a car! Your such an adult. Those rollerskates are really big, but I'll get them for you. Your friend Santa Claus " Now I'm wondering if the school had the fourth graders write these or something. The handwriting looks like an adult's but elfs? I'm doing good? Doesn't sound like the teacher wrote it.... Chris
Guest guest
I have written a note expressing my concern to the teacher and pointing out why I find the letter troubling. Hopefully this won't happen to any other families next Christmas. It really is not that big a deal (being promised roller skates that he is not getting), but it could be a big deal to some family with no money to buy whatever was promised in the other letters. Hopefully she will respond to the letter and not do this little " event " next year. I really have no intention of going to the papers. Everyone had some good ideas but they are not the route I choose to take on this matter. Thanks.
