I have found that for myself an electric razor is bad news. My skin

becomes irritated and quite red. As well, shaving lotion doesn't agree

with my skin either. I have tried many of the products out on the

market (including a fragrance free natural product from a health food

store) and they all irritated my condition to no end. Nevertheless, I

don't have a problem with shaving. What I find works is simply to soak

my beard with nothing other than water, either while in the shower or

with a very wet wash cloth, for several minutes until it is very soft.

I then use either the standard Gillete Sensor or the Mach 3 blade to

shave with. The result is a close shave that never irritates my skin. I

think the key to the success of this little routine is the soaking of

the beard. I have even used the cheaper blades every now and again and

they have worked fine too, provided that I had thoroughly soaked my

beard. J.R.
