Guest guest
Just a quick note about the 60 Minutes segment last night on children with autism... It's a reminder that we should not just focus on the OUTPUT of children with communication difficulties, but be sure that the INPUT is stimulating and constantly evolving. When they asked the severely autistic 14 year old (whose mother had taught him to write so he could communicate) what would have happened to him if she hadn't worked so much with him, he said " I would be a vegetable. " One of the teachers they talked briefly with said that the mother's system went against EVERYTHING she had been taught. Prior to her program being implemented, the kids were not even doing 1st grade material. Afterwards, they were doing age-appropriate 4th grade material. She was amazed. Another reason not to blindly follow the schools' recommendations, but go with your gut about your child's ability - and sometimes even beyond that. Guest guest
hey guys I saw a 60 minutes report.....as I'm sure many of you have; somethign like several thousand scientific repots that show vaccines dont are not harmfull and the only report showing it to be harmfull was not done well and rejected by major journals.. I like to keep an open mind....anyone have links to good scientific reports that show they are harmfull? thanks... Joe
