Guest guest
SulaBlue: I can eat one or two pieces of whole fruit a day now but in the beginning I could only eat a few berries occassionally. This was a real problem for me as I always cared more for fruit than processed sweets. Fruit was as sweet as I liked to have. I remember thinking one time what a stinking disease it was where someone had to limit eating wonderful, healthy delicious fresh grapes! (It was grape season & I wanted more than just a few <g>) Now because of good control I can tolerate fruit somewhat better but yes this is the most utterly frustrating disease around--it is said if you know one diabetic you know one diabetic that is all! cappie Greater Boston Area T-2 10/02 9/04 A1c: 5.3 Mod 100 carb diet, walking, Metformin. I remember saying as a kid that I liked meat and fruit (maybe I was a hunter-gatherer in disguise). What I do is stir a few berries into unsweetened yogurt (that I make myself) with added stevia. This gives me the fruit flavor without a lot of the fruit sugars. Gretchen
