I've looked at a few places around here, and can't find unsweetened. I just thought though of an almish store close by, I could try. I too like applesauce, and cinnamon too. Be a nice morning treat As for chicken, and salads. I never thought of those. As I said, so much to learn. I'll have to try to wip up some dressing like you mentioned. > For a tasty shake, try tossing the following in a blender: > > • ½ medium banana > • ¼ tsp vanilla extract > • 1 tsp oil, safflower > • ½ Tbl peanut butter, natural > • 6 Tbls protein powder, vanilla > • 4 Tbls yogurt, nonfat-plain > • 1 tsp cocoa, unsweetened > • Ice cubes to reach desired consistecy. > > Recipe courtesy of thediabeticdiet.com > 20g carb, 30g protein, 8g fat (1g saturated), 2g fiber, 13g of sugar and 272 calories. mm That does sound good. I just walked by the banannas today at Wal-mart, and wanted some but wasn't sure if I should. I'll have to try this now. That's one of my watch-outs, the amount of carbs. But as you showed, the fat and protein may make this edible to me. I can only try, and hope. I've still got a horrible sweet tooth. At least with the internet I can find all sorts of low-carb diabetic recipes. Especially on Dr. Berstein's web site. > Be sure to try the really fun oils, like walnut oil, or safflower. I'm finding a lot of things I like lately, including Tofu. I certain don't turn my nose up on things now (hehe) Thanks for the help!

Vicki: Hey, thanks for the heads-up. I've already got an order on it's way now. You sound like me. I have no financial interest in Abebooks, but I've been recommending them for about two years now . Guest guest
That's pretty much what I have to do. Several things blow my BG out of the water, like potatos. To me, they're just pure sugar :\ But like someone said " YOur not going to knell over overnight, you have time to find out what bothers you " I hope though this works for me Thanks for the concern. > If you're going to try this shake be sure to check your BG first then an > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: " SulaBlue " <sulablue2001@y...> > > For a tasty shake, try tossing the following in a blender: > > > > . ½ medium banana > > . ¼ tsp vanilla extract > > . 1 tsp oil, safflower > > . ½ Tbl peanut butter, natural > > . 6 Tbls protein powder, vanilla > > . 4 Tbls yogurt, nonfat-plain > > . 1 tsp cocoa, unsweetened > > .
