Guest guest
Hi all, now at 6 months, doc said all is on target. My ultrasound at 21 weeks showed the baby to be the size HE should be. Yes HE -- have the photo to prove it! Will be doing another ultrasound at the end of month 7 to verify that he is still growing as he should. My OB wasn't too thrilled that I refused to take the glucose tolerance test, but with my surgery (MGB) I don't have the duodenum (sp?) connected anymore, and don't tolerate concentrated sugars or high carbs well, and REALLY don't want to risk dumping! So to keep him happy, I am testing my blood sugars 2x's per day, an hour after meals to show that I don't have gestational diabetes. So far my BS have been anywhere from 66 to 83 an hour after eating, my norm before pregnancy was 70, so its been a challenge to keep enough of the right balance of carbs and protein in me to keep my #'s from going too low. I'm curious, for those that have had surgery & then a baby, how much have you gained during pregancy, I know that everyone is different, but I didn't have any sickness at all, at times feel like I could eat all day long, TRY not to do that! But have gained 20 pounds so far, the doc doesn't have a problem with this, just wondering if there is an average amount gained for those that have had gastric bypasses? At least I FEEL VERY pregnant! In the begining I felt like others on here, like I was getting fat - again, makes a big difference to have that little one kicking around inside! Anyone else due in November? Hugs, Kathy ===== Kathy from Statesville, NC Baby Due 11/08/2000! MGB W/Dr. Rutledge 1-6-99 Pre-Op weight 330 March 6 177 (141 gone in 1 year!)
