Guest guest
Hi! I've just joined this list. I'm still digging my way through old posts and all the information, but I have bunches of questions! First, I have had a history of yeast infection from the time I was a teenager. I've had rounds of antibiotics for that and sinus infections for years. I've recently sworn them off as having messed me up terribly. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and I my Chiropracter says I have " Leaky Gut Syndrome " . Yuck. Anyway, I've had 25 years of painful intercourse, and of course no GYN has ever been helpful. Anyway, I understand there are great doctors at U of M, and I'm about 1.5 hours away from there. However, I'm TERRIBLE at making appointments, and if I have to go that far, I have a tendency to procrastinate about it forever. I do a little better if the doc is local. Anyway, in your experience, is it better to push yourself to get to a doctor that knows about this condition, or to try to get your own doctor more educated on the subject. My current GYN did give me a set of dilators, and she is convinced that should fix me, but I've only had pain and trouble going that route. Her answer was to find a smaller set. I know by the reaction in my body that is NOT going to make a difference - they feel like they're ripping me apart, and I end up with another yeast infection. Also, burning during periods. Is there a way to reduce that? Maybe a cream or something?
