Guest guest
, the really great thing about diabetes is that we CAN do something about it, unlike most other diseases (like muscular dystrophy, cancer, etc.). Once you accept that you have a chronic disease and modify your lifestyle -- and I'm not saying that's an easy thing to do -- you can live a long, productive and healthy life. Having diabetes doesn't mean you're automatically going to get all -- or even ANY -- of the Bad Stuff. The Bad Stuff is only the result of ignoring the disease in the hopes that it will go away. It won't. Vicki, Head Cheerleader, five plus years now with diabetes, last A1C 5.6, no complications and planning on none forever!
