Hi , I'm scheduled to return to work tomorrow, and as of today (day 9) all the purple bruising has faded down to a very faint redness that covers completely with makeup. I think it will be completely gone in another couple of days. I started taking Ester-C about halfway through the week to promote healing, and it seemed like it did accelerate the process a little. The only thing that's bothered me is that the treated areas have been itchy for the last several days, a feeling that's reminiscent of rosacea flareup, but I guess it's just part of the healing process. Until that faint redness is completely gone, I won't be able to tell if there's anything still underneath it. But it does look much better so far. I saw my regular derm on Friday and asked for a prescription for Sulfacet-R which I planned on using instead of Noritate since I read that it had been more effective on a test group, and also because my skin seems to respond so well to the sulfur in the Sher SOS lotion. However, I went to our trusty cea Support Highlights URL, and discovered that Sulfacet-R has sulfacetamide in it, which, on further research, turns out to be a sulfa drug, and I'm severely allergic. Guess I'll stick with Noritate. Who knows, maybe it *is* helping. Your treatment is coming up soon, isn't it? Are you going to Candela in Boston or somewhere else? I highly recommend Dr. Rohrer at the BU Dermatology Laser Center in Brookline, and my derm thinks highly of him as well. In fact, he told me to continue to follow up with him -- he feels he really knows his stuff -- and that you have to be very careful who you choose to do this procedure.
