Guest guest
Hello! This is my first time posting to the group. I have had a problem with a relentless yeast infecion since 8/03. I have never feel OK down there ever since. I have been on a zillion antifungal meds, oral and creams but nothing works for me. I am on another round of boric acid suppositories, hopefully they will work. I went and saw a naturopathic doctor a week ago and am on on a lot of chinese herbal meds. Something has got to give. The doctors are starting to treat me like I am some crazy person obsessed with my vagina or something. Incourse always makes it worse. I think the semen changes the PH or something. Do any of you have any recommendations for me? I have tried Three Lac, Y Stat suppositories, diflucan too many times to count, Terazol creams at least 10 different 7 day courses, monistat, clotrimazol, hydrocortiosone cream, betamethasone, testosterone ointment, and of course the boric acid suppositories. We are planning to start trying for a baby next month and I want this problem under control before we do this. I just don't know if it is possible. I am starting to feel like this is a forever thing. I really wish I had some really great get well soon meds to clear me up. Luckily my husband is very understanding, but it is very frustrating. I only wear cotton underwear, I use Dove sensative scent free soap, I use all free and clear detergent, I don't wear panty hose and I don't wear tight clothes. I think I am doing everything right but I never get better. I take that back, in the 3rd wk of novemeber I felt perfect, like there was nothing wrong with me but I then had sex and boom, I swelled up, became very irritated with buring pain and now have the yeast discharge. ANY advice is welcome! Thanks!

As far as having sex we use a condum most of the time because if you have sex frequently or hardly at all your not use to it and it can cause a ph unbalance. that is what a dr. told me. Guest guest
First let me ask you , have you confirmed with a culture through a lab that it is indeed yeast and what strain of yeast it is? If you haven't confirmed the strain, you could be 'mistreating' the problem because some yeasts are cured only by certain meds. For instance, I think the glabrata strain does not respond to Diflucan and other commonly prescribed meds. Second - your doc, after all these infections hasn't suggested that you see a specialist for this problem? I assume that your doc is a regular old gyn, yes? If this is beyond his/her scope (and with all these recurring infections it sure seems so) you should be referrred to someone who can look further for the root of the problem. But FIRST - you need to know for sure the strain ofyeast to be certain you have yeast and then how to treat it. Third , do you use a lubricant - and if you are, could you be reacting to it with this dishcarge and it's not yeast at all. Replens causes a discharge in me which looks exactly like yeast and this causes me burning and discomfort....but its not yeast - its a reaction to yeast. Last - you might want to give some thought to stopping all that medication in your girl parts. You may well be doing more harm than good until you have definitively identified the problem. You can be making yourself susceptible to more virulent yeasts by overmedicating. If you haven't tried this yet, stop all forms of sugar now - for at least two weeks and see if you can clear up the problem that way. I have successfully done so in the past. Something that works VERY well for me is the probiotic drink - Danactive (found in health food stores and some grocery stores on the east coast) and taking Kyo Dophilus daily. Good luck and keep us posted Dusty -----Original Message-----From: carriebrowneyes Sent: Wednesday, December 15, 2004 7:56 PMTo: VulvarDisorders Subject: chronic yeast/ squamous cell hyperplasiaHello!
