Guest guest
Well, for sure I'd say stop using the Replens now! I used it and had the clumping, cheesy stuff and irritation so there must be something in it that we are reacting to. I am now using and L O V E SPECTRUM 100% Coconut oil for lubrication, both during sex and when my irritation is too noticeable during the days and nights of just 'living'. It has been wonderful for me and I won't change unless something dramatic causes me too. It sometimes poses challenges for application as it is susceptible to temperature and can harden (though not too hard to use - melts when it gets on your fingers) or in summer months before a/c is turned on - it melts. I have taken to putting in the frig during warmer months. It has antifungus properties and I believe anti inflammatory properties as well. Olive oil, 100 % is also very good as a lubricant. Dusty Anyone have weird reactions to Replens? Hello, I'm new to the group. I've dealt with this (vulvodynia both vestibulitis and dysthetic/possible IC/tailbone and sit-bone pain/hip pain/ and foot pain) on and off for 10 years...during the last three the syptoms became permanent versus intermittent. Lots of ideas about the possible causes but really, I'm not sure i.e. correlation doesn't show causation. I'm married, in my thirties (though I FEEL 50), no kids (well 2 cats but they didn't come out of me...) and no signifigant health problems (no allergies, no operations, I am height-weight proportionate, no immune problems, and nothing contagious) a side from chronic pain...and a lower IQ than I'd like...my health is pretty good. So...on to the Replense question. I've used a variety a lubricants down there...some have helped and some haven't. I wanted to try a longer acting moisturiser so that intercourse (we try to try it at least 1 time a month) could be more " spontaneous. " But Replens immediately turns into these really weird chunks/clumps...nothing else does this...not even in any combo that I've tried. The package insert says something about " skin sloughing " but should it be immediate? Some days...anything that touchs anything down there tends to burn...even products that don't burn at other times. Sometimes the Replens makes the outer edges of my skin turn gray/white while the inner area is quite red. The only other thing I've seen do that is a vinger H2o solution that I used to use as a rinse. Oh, and a lidocaine ointment. Still...nothing like the Replense reaction. Any Ideas? Thanks. Good-Luck to you ALL. **IF REPLYING TO THIS POST, PLEASE REMOVE ORIGINAL POST, THANKS** Our HOME page is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VulvarDisorders to search our archives, files, articles, etc. ***
Guest guest
Just wanted to say " thanks " for responding. Is the spectrum coconut oil something specifically created for sex? Or is it for food preparation? I'd like to try buying some and was wondering where to find it at the grocery store. Thanks ;-) ~ Jittery-One > > Well, for sure I'd say stop using the Replens now!
