Guest guest
Well normally vickie does not nap...... she is 3 and gets up between 6:30 and 7 most mornings and goes to bed by 7:30 or so at night... that is unless she for some reason does fall asleep during the afternoon and then she might not go to sleep until 10 or later... though on her way home from the school she does tend to fall asleep on the bus ann preschoolers Ok folks I'm taking a poll....... What time do you kids go to bed? How long of a nap do they take during the day? What time do they have to be at school? We're trying to get on a schedule and right now we're going to school 2 days a week..next week it will be 4 days with a break in the middle (but I work that day so the schedule will sort of be the same) Just curious as to what the rest of the world is doing...lol ~Angie May God Bless You As He Has Us www.babiesonline.com/babies/s/sydniebrooke mom to Sydnie (3, Ds), 3 angels in Heaven http://www.earningforce.com/go.cgi?sydniesmom5

My 3 1/2 yr old son goes to bed at 8 PM. He has no school right now, but last year this is how it went-- He had to be woken up (or was sometimes already awake) for school at about 7:10 AM to catch his 7:40 bus-- school began at about 8:20 so he had kind of a long ride. He was home by 11:40 and napped from 1:15 -2:30 PM. He would sleep longer but I always woke him since i want him to still go to bed by 8 PM. Guest guest
- Oh Sharon, I remember what a great routine you described in the spring for your kids, and after school/homework - you are probably an inspiration for us! I am interested to see what answers Angie gets, all I know is August 27 is the first day of school, and it will be hurting my 6 yr old! She is a night owl, and definitely loves to sleep in - if I can get her to lay down at 9:30, it's rare. My 4 yr old (nda) doesn't begin preschool until October, he is more of an early riser, and so I enrolled him for mornings, Tues and Thursday 9-11:30 am. Probably 9 will be bedtime, and he takes naps only occassionally, usually a drive in the afternoon knocks him out, or if he stops to watch tv. Olivia usually takes one good nap in the afternoon, and I try to nap with her when I can! Since and will never nap then, they start out laying by me, then they move on to play in their rooms Patty -- In , " Sharon " <huie@s...> wrote: > After I answered your poll and sent the message, I noticed the subject was > preschoolers. HI Sharon I have kind of the same situation here .... Kaite my 14 yr. old would stay up till midnight if Id let her, I insist on 10pm bed time for her (she naps after school before homework) Sara heads to bed usually at 730. We talk for a while in bed and have our " snuggle time " last night she went to bed at OH MY GOODNESS 10pm. I had a church class and NO ONE would send her to bed Sara needs at least 10 hr. of sleep to be a good student at school lol when tired she's more noncompliant and mischievous. Right now she's afraid the principal will kick her out, she got this thought from attending summer school at a different school and she didn't like it lol We have had NO homework, in fact it takes Sara's school at least 2 weeks to get on some type of schedule. This is ridiculous in my mind since the teachers go back a week before school starts but I try to remember I am in the South lol where things move at a slower pace. Guest guest
Usually goes to bed at 10:00pm and gets up at 7:15am during the school year. She has sleep apnea so sometimes she will get back up at 1a.m. or whenever and watch tv. So it messes us up alot. But we will be back to school schedule by monday as school starts. Nettie619 has never required much sleep but now we are finding it maybe due to sleep apnea.

Guest guest
My boys are all older, but the rule in our house has always been 9:00 bedtime during the school year. The summer they have been up till 11-12, but will usually be in bed no later than 11. When they were younger 8:30 was the latest I let them up. I have always looked forward to those couple of hours to myself. To this day, if they are not in by 9:00 I get a little testy. That is MY time! LOL. Guest guest
Actually, the only homework 's teacher gives is to study her spelling words and definitions. If there is class work she didn't get done in class, that will be sent home as homework. But likes doing homework, probably has to do with the fact her sister has homework every day. So I always have something for to do, and we have a special " homework binder " , one of those wild binders, that is 's homework station. It has only been the end of last school year, and now the beginning of this one that will voluntarily tell you about any bad things from her day. She used to lie, and always say she had " all G's " , when in fact that wasn't the truth. Before school started this year, she came up to me one day and told me what she would do if bothered her ( is an EC child in her room and a behavior problem, he has always been a distraction to ). She told me she wouldn't look at him or listen to him, she would close her ears and do her work. She told me this the week before school, with no prompting. I think she is beginning to have a better grasp of action/consequence. But her favorite phrase has always and will always be " I won't ever do that again " . LOL Sharon H. Guest guest
Micah is almost 3 (October) and usually doesn't take a nap anymore. On the occasion that he does it is usually late afternoon which means a later bedtime. Normal bedtime is around 8:30-9:00. with wake up time at 5:30 YUCK!! If I am lucky I can get him to snuggle with me and go back for another hour.
