Guest guest
Today I called my doctor's office to ask them to call in a rx for my strips at a different pharmacy. That pharmacy was very helpful to me when I originally bought my meter, but they've seemed reluctant to give me a refill the last couple of times I've come in. I told the receptionist how many I wanted and got pretty prompt call back from the nurse. She was concerned that I had misunderstood the original instructions I'd received from their office about testing. When I told her that I test 6 - 8 times a day, she replied, " even our diabetics on insulin don't test that much! " <ACK!> When I explained that I like getting good numbers and find it verrrrry motivating, she understood and didn't have any problem with that. She asked me if my fingers were " bloody stumps; " I explained that I successfully use the sides of my fingers with a low setting on that pen thingey (the 'grabber stabber'). I have more to catch up on with the list--look for more posts! <smile> ************************************************************ Janet Beattie Diagnosed: June '02 Goal: Non-diabetic blood glucose levels Treatment: Low-carb eating, exercise, ample testing
