Guest guest
Hi again Hillary, > > I did take myself off of dairy because I believed it > was doing me harm and initially dairy-free I was > pretty much reflux free. But then even without > dairy> in the mix, a really bad bout began. Are you taking any supplements that might have something unfortold in them or drinking something suspicious? (even sodas can have gluten). Of course we have to remember that you have managed to damage your intestinal tract from the antibodies of gluten and perhaps dairy which makes you more likely to be sensitive from other food intake that normally wouldn't bother anybody. In time that could go away with healing. I did have a > little milk today and immediately noted a reaction. > I > think I'm going to go off milk again. That certainly is no surprise and it is smart of you to know that this is likely a culprit in the whole mix. Still, thou I > wonder what else I'm reacting to. My stomach is > queasy even when I stay away from fruit and > vegetables > and eat blandly. I don't believe it's just stress > or > at least I'd like to think it's something I could > control by diet and not my emotions. I don't think so either but I have no idea of your life that might be adding huge amount of stress to your body. In my life I had plenty of stress and before gluten free I was so stressed out most of the time that I thought I was coming apart. After the diet change in about two weeks I realized that I suffered from Anxiety with a capital A, (a real physical disease often treated as a mental disorder) that actually disappeared when the gluten and dairy stopped being consumed. I am glad that I persevered and never asked for pills (tranquillizers or whatever is out there) to relieve it (or me) because it would have just added trouble to the fire and I doubt do any good (but I could be wrong). Anyway I am pretty much convinced that just this gluten sensitivity and dairy sensitivity or other food thing is likely the cause of at least all my problems. There is a Celiac Listserv group where all aspects of this business are talked about. Some people have a very hard time getting to feel better. (I think it is because of other sensitivities usually) but also enzyme producing functions in the body and hormones beyond the sex hormones have been affected affected sometimes. Some people take supplements like glutamine, etc. that I don't know much about. They often get into more technical information that I don't involve myself in except very slightly. I would think that your being on this list to ask questions would be good as there are some real experts on it and is the place where you might get some good ideas. So, if you haven't joined this, I suggest it. Now if I can find how to join (I have had trouble before locating that information as for some reason it isn't obvious).
