Guest guest
Haydee, I was going to respond to , but then spotted your reply and decided to read it first. It was so beautifully written and I'm sure will forever silence this question for us, " Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people? " How blessed we all are to know you and . One thing that I have to remember is that God never promised we wouldn't have sorrow, heartache, fear, or turmoil, but He did promise His children that He would be with us through it all. That is a comforting promise that only His children possess. Just as the " Footprints " poem states (which you forgot to include in your reply to and I'm sure others who have never seen would like to read), When we look back on our lives and see only one set of footprints and think we've walked it alone, we realize those are God's footprints and He's carrying us through. , there is a book titled with this very question " Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People " author Dr. Dobson. I would highly recommend it to you. I pray that God's peace will fill you so that you will never doubt His love and care for you and the child you love. God truly is good all the time and all the time, God is good. By the way, Haydee, how is your dad? I tried to send you an email via another computer when my hard drive crashed to ask you about him. Did you ever get it? I've been wondering about him. Hugs, Peppi (ACM - 5 mm. No surgery and symptoms seem to be less for now.) Mom to Kenny, who at the age of 9 on July 19, 1999, had decompression surgery for ACM - 13 mm. He also has SM, but it is asymptomatic. Thank God, he is doing wonderfully well today. Okay now I can hear people say, ya you sinned > that is why this happend to you. But why does God let this happen to little > children? I was hoping Haydee would respond to you, . I tried earlier and it didn't go through. Thanks, Haydee, for your eye opening testimony. is truly an angel on earth. So are you. With my belief, I feel that children, like , are angels God has sent to help others struggling or rearrange their priorities. Your wife's niece didn't do anything to deserve Downs Syndrome. I've known several children with Downs Syndrome and they have been such an inspiration to me. God has a purpose for them. He will reveal it in His time, not ours. There are all kinds of faiths here and non-belivers. That doesn't mean that one of us is better than the other. My belief is that my God does not allow bad things to happen to people for sinning. God is the one with the big picture and it is not for us to question Him, " Why? " He'll let us know when He wants us to know. I found great comfort in replacing the question, " Why? " , with " What can I do about it? " " What can I do about it? " , is one of my coping techniques. You'll drive yourself crazy asking, " Why? " It's very non-productive for me. " What can I do about it? " gives me a goal to work towards. I've been home bound for 16 years and I've endured much pain. In the beginning, I prayed for God to take me home. It looks like that is not what He has in mind for me. So.... I asked God to allow me to be His servant through my illness or under any conditions He wants me to serve Him. That has helped me greatly. It is a great honor to me to serve my Lord. I have to live one day at a time and one hour at a time. God walks with me daily, which is great comfort to me. You mentioned that God will not put us through more than we can handle. 2 years ago, my son was hit by a car that rolled Heath over several times. He landed upside down, no seat bealt, a huge hole in the windshield, the cab collapsed with him in it. He was cut out and air lifted to a hospital. He walked out of that hospital, with his cut off clothes in a sack. He had a concussion and some nagging back injuries to this day. I have some pictures of his wrecked pickup on my bedroom wall. There should be no humanly way he could have survived, BUT HE DID. Those pictures are a reminder to me that God new that it would have been too much for me to loose my son at that time. I've lost others that I didn't think I could handle, but God has seen me through the rough times, as He is seeing me through my excruiating illness. , you might want to try asking , " What can I do about it? " , instead of " Why? " It has been really helpful for me. I'll keep you in my prayers. I hope I have offended no one. I'm no better than the next person and their beliefs. Guest guest
I'm a christian and I have chiari/suffering.. Let me tell you how I look at life.. 1. Realize that it is your destiny to be an overcomer Ephesians 2:10 " For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. " 2. Become unshakable!! 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 " But thanks be to God!! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore my dear brothers, Stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. " 3. Surviving the ups and downs. Psalm 6:3 My soul is in anguish. How long, O Lord, how long? Psalm 40:1 I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. 4. Keep your eyes on the prize.. Don't look at everything that your're going through seperately or you will be weighted down!! :-) Proverbs 4:25 " Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you. " 5. Betterness, not Bitterness Psalm 119:50 " My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. " 2 Corinthians 4:18 " So we fix our eyes on not what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. " 6. More good verses: Psalm 9:12 " ... he does not ignore the cry of the afflicted. " Isaiah 58:11 " The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. " Psalm 29:11 " The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.
