Hi everyone:

I'm new in the group and would like to get more information about this zinc,

dimethicone compound your talking about. I have used metrogel for several

years and stopped using it for the cea LTD disks. I experienced some

improvement, but still looking for something better. After reading some

comments, I have seen a lot of about the zinc and the Klaron lotion.

Would someone please provide me more info..

Hi Sherry,

You could get your pharmacy to call the pharmacy in Ohio that Bill and

Deborah use for their compounds (Custom Prescriptions - 1-).

The pharmacist is Glen . I recently picked up my compound, and had

my pharmacy call Glen first in case he had any tips on mixing the zinc

oxide etc. and he was very helpful.

I'm attempting to get a zinc, dimethicone, etc. compound made up and I

understand from your emails that it is important that it be microfine.

Is there a particular instruction or type of zinc oxide I should ask the

pharmacist to use?

Hi Francisco,

The zinc oxide dimethicone treatment doesn't really exist at the moment. A

few list members have pharmacies making them custom preparations, and Dr.

Sy is working on one that she will then offer as a product. She has

mentioned that it is going through the process of formal testing before

being released.

So unless you were in a position to contact the handful of compounding labs

that can make it, you are probably better to wait for Sy Skincare to

offer it as a product (I am). It will be a non prescription product.

Klaron is one of the prescription Sodium Sulfacetamide treatments, offered

by Dermik. Their web site is http://www.dermik.com

cheers,

davidp.
