Hi Kat,

Since you were happy with your primary care doctor, I would suggest going

back. I love my family doctor and would not think about going to a specialist.

We're all different, some people prefer a specialist, nothing wrong with that

if the patient is getting the care they deserve.

The relationship a person has with their doctor will play a major role in how

they will handle their health situation.

Your primary care doctor sounds like my doctor.

Kat, i think you need to be comfortable with who provides your care! So if

you are not comfortable with the new Endo try another! I don't care for a few

of the doctors at my OB's practice, so i ask to not see them! If i wasn't 8

months pregnant i would probably look at a few other practices. As far as my

Endo, i LOVE her! We are on a first name basis, she calls me Mel i call her

Chris. She sits there and explains everything to me clearly, answers my

questions and concerns and we can joke and make light of situations. When i

told her

" well i had Burger King for breakfast " and she said " Uh-oh, not good " but

then i told her what i had and what my 2 hour was she is said " Cool "

She always assures me and recently said that most type 2 pregnant patients

she has take 3-4 shots of insulin a day, whereas i take one (and only 12 units)!

She said i was the model patient. Which fills me with pride and gives me a

natural high for the day =)

My Family Doctor is a man (usualy i prefer women) but he is wonderful as

well! He listens and doesn't beat around the bush! I feel perfectly

comfortable

with him and he understands.

You need to feel at ease with who looks after your care and health!

I go to an Internist. She takes care of everything & is absolutely WONDERFUL.

She spends as much time with me as I need her to. Go with the doctor you are

most comfortable with.
