Does anyone even know the reason for red blotchy skin? Is it areas of

I wish that I knew what causes the blotchy skin. I hate that part.

With me I think that I get more blotchy around different chemicals at work. I

find that zinc oxide ointment and Noritate help the most. Photoderm has

definitely helped to get rid of alot of the blotchiness that I once had.

, I get it for lots of reasons, including dry skin. For me, it

depends on what I eat or the triggers I set off. I find an otc

antihistamine and grapeseed extract seem to moderate blotchiness a lot.

I have to be careful about what I eat and not set off triggers,

however.

Is there any connection to having fair or very light skin opposed to dark

or olive skin. I heard rosacea hits most everyone with very light fair

complextion.

So are most of you fair skin with this condition?

Hi Annie,

I am definitely fair.....I sunburn easily, and blush very easily

(always have, even as a child, and have hated that characteristic ever

since I was a child!), and have blue/green eyes. I am of

English/Irish/ish/German heritage, strongest in English. I just

found out two of my cousins (they are sisters) have developed

rosacea..... evidently there is more than a little truth to what is

said about heredity and heritage playing a role.

No, I have a medium complexion, and usually tan very well.

I do not have fair skin. But I do not have rosacea on my cheeks, etc. I

have it on my nose without " pimples " . I get red and swelling at least once

a day and my skin is thickening and slowly deforming my nose, some tiny red

spots are beginning to form.
