Ronnie,

I think the perspiration is coming from the Pred. I use mineral oil for my

skin, the only thing that will work for me. The finger being crack, will

I'll leave that up to someone else to answer. The bruising is coming from

the pred. I get the bruising and it goes away. As far as your hands being

red, mine are red also, my entire arm was red one time, I forgot what my doc.

said about it.

I hope this helps

Rene

Thanks, Rene. I wonder why the skin bruises. It is not like I bumped myself

into something and just bruised easily. Maybe I did and didn't realize it.

These bruises are on my tummy of all places. It is just so strange, and of

course I hate when I don't understand why something happens. I will try the

mineral oil for the dry skin. I hate to shake hands with anyone anymore.

For me it WAS the Prednisone (Bruises), you need to have a blood test done :

Platelet Count. I get the Bruises when I am coming down on the Pred it looks

like I someone beat the living daylights out of me sometimes! Mostly on my

thighs.

Hope you are feeling better today. By the most of my bruising is on the

upper thigh. It's looks like someone beat the living crap out of me. After

a few days, it's gone.

Love,

Rene

Glad to know that you are more alert. The last time they did a platelet

count my lab report came back saying unable to perform accurate platelet

count due to platelets clumps and the Platelets appear adequate on slide. Do

you know what that means?

Right now I have a very bad UTI. My doctor told me if it didn't clear up

after I have finished the antibiotics, come in right away. She would have to

check my Kidneys.

Hope the medicine works.

Hang in there,

Love,

Rene'

I hope your feeling better ! You mentioned the breast bone pain and I

was wondering if it could be costochondritis, where the cartilage that

attaches the ribs to the breast bone gets real inflamed and hurts like hell.

You can check by pressing on the edge of the breastbone and where the ribs

attach there. Sometimes it affects a few ribs and sometimes all. Anyway if

it is that my rheumatologist had me try flexeril 10 mgms up to 2 tablets at

bedtime and said they don't know why this muscle relaxant helps that but it

works to relieve the pain in quite a few people. It did work for me and the

doctor I work for decided to try it on several patients with costochondritis

and it worked for quite a few of them. Maybe it could help you too, it did

help me alot so I thought I'd mention it. Hang in there and I'll pray your

better real soon if not already. Please let me know how you are feeling and

if there is anything I can do. Love Sue P

Ronnie - I am not now, or I have I ever been on Prednisone - but I get the

sweats from my head so badly when I am getting a flare - that is one way that

my family and friends can tell what is coming - water just pours off of my

face and my head gets sopping wet - so, I don't know, mine isn't from meds

and it is a big indicator that my body is in trouble - just a thought - lisa

, thanks for the reply. Do you continue to sweat for a long time once

you start. Like you sweat from the scalp. The rest of my body is dry. Once

I start sweating it will continue for hours just rolling down my face.

Literally hours. I finally had my hair cut shorter, not too short, but

shorter. My longer hair (too the shoulders) would get so wet it looked

horrible. I am able to somewhat lift the hair from the scalp when I brush

and style it and it does not get as wet. Actually, with my Prednisone moon

face this new style looks better. Ronnie
