Hi and welcome Janice,

I'm not sure what kind of tips you are looking for. Calorie increase?

Where to go for diaganose? Clothing? etc. Whatever it is this list is a great

resource and an incredible source of support, strenghth and frienship. Tell

us more about Emma and what brings you to the RSS list.

To my friends,

Peace and Prayers

Hi Janice and welcome to the list! To upload a picture, first go to the

ONElist website (www.onelist.com) and log yourself in. Depending on how you

found the RSS-Support list you may already have a password. If you don't,

then you can create one. Once you're in, click on RSS-Support and then

click on Files which is on the lefthand side of your screen. This will take

you into our Files. If you want to upload a picture of Emma, then you can

create a file (button for this is at the top right hand side of the screen -

blue button) and then upload a picture of her into it. If you need further

help, just let me know! I plan on attending the MAGIC convention in July

and would love to see you there.

i am 35 wks preg now and got preg at 4 mos post op. i has a c-section with

my first daughter, then wls and a panniculectomy (cut from hip to hip and

tummy tuck) and i thought for sure i would have to have c-section, but NOPE,

they said vaginal is ok to try!!! yahoo.

i am high risk because of the timing of getting pregnant too soon after

surgery. i think if you wait past 1 yr or more you will not be.

with this pregnancy i have lost a total of 20-25 pounds and not gained

anything. i eat CONSTANTLY and love not worrying about gaining or losing

just watching my tummy grow and get new stretch marks!

good luck

In answer to some of your questions:

You can still deliver vaginally. I did and had one of the easiest labors. I

was in hard labor for only three hours and pushed for all of 7 minutes. :)

It went very smoothly. The only thing I didn't expect was all the blood I

lost when I stood up. For some reason no one ever mentioned that!

Not all WLS patients are high risk. I wasn't. Some are depending on their

age or other medical problems and if you get pregnant too soon then you are

considered high risk.

Pregnancy weight averages between 15-20 pounds gained if you wait the proper

time after surgery. " Normal " women average 25-30 pounds gained. I gained 18

and lost them all right after I gave birth.

Hope this helps you.

Janice,

I'm only 7 weeks pregnant. I have Kaiser insurance and they automatically

put me with a perinatologist and classified me as high risk because of the

surgery. They said it wasn't a big deal they just want to watch me closer

and make sure the baby is growing properly. They also referred me to a

nutrionist.

they said they wanted her out at 37 weeks and started

inducing...unfortunatly, she had other plans. that is when i had my last

ultrasound too. i know there is a varience of weight with the us but she

came in a little less than even the low end. she is sure making up for it

now though!!! in fact, just after she was born, she was gaining about 1- 1

1/2 lbs a week. they followed her pretty close to start.
