Guest guest Posted February 3, 2001 Report Share Posted February 3, 2001 Dear Friends and Family I had my 32 wks u/s today and prenatal appt. Things are progressing better than expected for me and my dr. When I first found out I was pregnant so soon after gastric bypass surgery we were both a little concerned about the baby and his growth, but at 32 wks he was 4 lbs 5 oz and will probably be big like his sister (8.4/20 " ) YIKES, I was sorta hoping for a 6 pounder....ha ha ha I cannot believe that its almost here! Im really trying for a VBAC as to avoid another surgery and all the pain of recovery again. I am doing great after WLS and have lost 103 pounds so far. I am still not gaining weight which might change as Im in my 8th month now and the baby is really packing on the pounds, but as long as he grows and I dont, thats sounding good to me!! My great friends and family are having my showers this month which will be a great help since we are having a baby BOY! and did not really expect this baby so we did not save alot of stuff, but did save some! My first shower is on the 21st thrown by a few of my WLS friends and the other by my mom on the 24th. My wonderful husband has agreed to come to both of them to help me with Chloe (3yrs) and loading the stuff and driving me in case Im pooped out. I am anemic and have been pumping the iron pills in so Im hoping they will catch up to me soon. Also, sleeping just isnt what it used to be! Its so hard to get comfy, but that will be over soon and I will only have a newborn keeping me awake...lol We are getting closer to finding a boy's name.......never knew it could be so hard. Every time we go over the short list I decide nope, I dont like that one any more and have to find new ones! I/we are now thinking maybe doing a " C " name, so if you have any suggestions that go with our last name (COW PIN EN) Kauppinen we are trying to have a list ready for the shower and then get votes on the top 3 to bring to the hospital. Speaking of which, my great hubby paid extra to get me the birthing suite so we can bring our daughter with us to share in the birth. They get an extra bed for dad, a tv and meals and snacks and stuff. Its sorta like a hotel room with lots of medical stuff! I got back to the dr in 2 wks and then have another u/s in 4 wks. I will keep you all posted on the baby and his growth. As long as he keeps growing they will not forsee taking him out early.
