Yeast

Okay I have been listening for a while now, I was dx with fungus in the groins, it includes my outter groin to my thighs, and even my entire vulva. I am on nystop right now which is helping but not getting me over the hurdel. I am at my emotional end of the rope with this. It all started on hot and humid day in May when I was working my butt of on my new house trying to get it finished so we could move in.

Any thoughts Ideas anything, I have been reading about this danactive but seems like it is going to hard to find from where I am at. I am thinking of calling the dr monday and seeing if she will give me a tablet so that I can fight it from the inside out. I was on Diflucan when it hit its worse. LOL isn't that a hoot.

No culture, I should have asked for one but she said if it doesn't clear up with this one then we would do the culture, the problem is now that it is more under the surface. Also since I am using a product on it I have been told that I would have to quit using it for so many days until a culture can be done. I am just so pissed off about the whole thing. Also I guess that it might take a while for the vulva skin to heal even more so then the inner thigh skin so many I am rushing things.

I am going to get some Danactive, I guess that it won't hurt anything to try it and see. It might do better to keep it from coming back then to actually aid in the riddence of it.

Did the doc do a culture of the yeast, or is he just telling you that he thinks it's yeast from his experience? If you haven't had a culture done, please ask for one so that you and your doctor know what antifungal will work. Not all antifungals work on all strains of yeast, so you need to know the strain of yeast that you have.

Are you using vaginal estrogen? - Estrace cream, premarin cream, Vagifem tabs or an estrogen ring? If so, you need to stop until you get the yeast under control.

I had exactly the kind of infection you are speaking of, down my inner thighs, all over my vulva and vaginally too. I was so miserable and in so much pain. I got the infection from using Estrace cream vaginally.

What eventually "cured" that infection was a combination of eating a completely sugar free diet and using Terazol 7 Antifungal cream, after having the culture done to determine the strain of yeast that I had.

I continued to get subsequent yeast infections (though not as bad as that first one) until I began using Danactive (Actimel outside of the U.S.) Probiotic drink every single day.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I do not use any estrogen, but before they dx me they thought that might help and put me on an estrogen cream and boy I had never been so RED in my life down there.
