Guest guest
Irene, I don't know what other probiotics might contain the Casei. I fell into using the Danactive accidentally by seeing a TV commercial for it, and the vv benefits were a bonus. I got it to see if I could get my unruly bowels to quiet down. When I did experience vv benefits, I THEN went to the internet and looked up the bacterial ingredients to see what was written about them, and it was then I learned that Casei is believed to be of use to the genitals. I believe there's another one, as well, that has the same benefits but the strain name escapes me right now. I'm sure you can check the internet or with your local health food store. Alternatives?Hi,Dusty has recommended a few times that I try Danactive probiotic drink - I looked everywhere and it's not to be found. I went to their website and learned that it's in limited distribution. I'm in Arizona, and I guess we're not cool enough for them yet. Dusty, if you're reading this, in what part of the country are you?I sent them an email asking about future availability, we'll see what they say. In the meantime, I'm interested in another probiotic that might also contain the L. Casei that's in Danactive - anybody know of anything? Thanks,Irene*****END OF MESSAGE/REMOVE WHEN REPLYING*****http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VulvarDisordersto search our archive or view our files.***
Guest guest
I looked at Danactive in the store today and I noticed that it is high in sugar. Is that an issue? > > Hi, > > Dusty has recommended a few times that I try Danactive > probiotic drink - I looked everywhere and it's not to be found. Here is what the probiotics are that are in Danactive according to their site: " Each bottle contains 10 billion active cultures, including S. thermophillus, L. bulgaricus and L. casei. " For those of you who can't find Danactive, maybe you can find a probiotic capsule that has these strains of probiotics in them and take just the capsule. It's the probiotics that make Danactive helpful. Also, this new yogurt made with soy has those same probiotics and a few more. Not sure of their amounts since Danactive has 100 billion live cultures. But this product has sugar as well. http://www.silkissoy.com/index.php?id=35 Here's some interesting info: http://www.florahealth.com/Flora/Home/international/Products/TG8_More. asp?CategoryID= & ImageFlag= Lynn
Guest guest
What kind of culture is in plain yogurt? That doesn't have sugar, at least not the added kind. > > > > I looked at Danactive in the store today and I noticed that it is > > high in sugar. > > > > Is that an issue? > > > > > > Sugar feeds yeast so it would be an issue for those fighting yeast > infections. > > Here is what the probiotics are that are in Danactive according to > their site: > > " Each bottle contains 10 billion active cultures, > including S. thermophillus, L. bulgaricus and L. casei. Guest guest
I was leery of taking Danactive because it has sugar, which can encourage yeast growth. So instead, I just went to the health food store and read the label on every single bottle of probiotics until I found one with the casei, bifurda and the acidopholus, without any possible bad ingredients. There was just one (it was refrigerate), but this is an approach that might work for you. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Message: 4 Date: Fri, 19 Nov 2004 20:09:20 -0000 Subject: Danactive not available!
