Guest guest
Ok, I've met you in another group then....a while back! I know which suburb of Omaha you are in.....Pappio right? Either that one or Bellvue..... Do you have a good doctor by any chance? if you don't....I can give you the name and info of a really good one that I am seeing right now. He's really got a lot of patients now .... due to taking in the patients of the only other pain doc in Council Bluffs......but, I seriously doubt if he'd turn anyone down! if you want, you can email me privately... iowahillbilly@... tonia -------Original Message------- hi Tonia, we are really close then, im right out side of omaha Jolene ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
Guest guest
Jolene, I've had alot of problems with my knees, you should probably have an MRI done. Even though nothing may be showing up on the x-rays, that only shows bone, MRI will show alot more. You coule have torn something or have scar tissue, etc. If your new doctor does not do this I would defnitely ask him about it. Let me know how it goes! Guest guest
Jolene, my name is JoAnn and sign notes with s Momma then my name under that. My daugher has had rsd over 7 years and I was diagnosed close to 3 years now plus have Fibro and other things. But wanted you to know that I am glad your writing and want you to let people know what your doctors have said or done or what they may suggest as those who have dealt with this for awhile know the things that you should never have done to you. And they know the best kind of meds for say burning or spasms or pain. At least can offer you names of few for each problem. Did you get diagnosed with rsd? Missed the post I guess if wrote one about this. I hope you are getting more help than an xray as that does not tell you much. I do not believe it is an accurate diagnosis. Let us know as time goes on what has happened with doctors and is happening and how your knee and ankle feel. Not just pain but if burns or if painful to have like air blowing on it or a sheet on it , things like that. You take care Jolene and know that we are here to offer you support and we are not doctors and what we say is based mainly on what has helped us or someone we know. It is something that you can take to your doctor and perhaps ask them if they think this med would help or this treatment might help.......just things along this line people will say have tried and helped them. Does that make sense my friend? Glad you found us but sorry you are hurting. Take care and write as much as you want. s Momma JoAnn Re: Hi Everyone..........Jolene Hii Lori, ive been to 4-5 differnt drs for my knees, i going to a new one on friday, they all have just done x-rays. Guest guest
Now know you won't believe this but you put me in a social situation and if I say 5 words will be good. Scares the heck out of me to be with people do not know well. It is just plain yucky. So hey Barbara, we are more alike than knew about. s Momma JoAnn Re: Hi Everyone..........Jolene Actually, I was kidding.....although in some social settings I tend to disappear. You're right about my being relatively quiet though. Have a good one, Barbara. AlwayzLoRi@... wrote: Barbara, you are shy? I didn't know that, I just thought you were kind of the quiet type unless you have something really important to let us know. Well I'm off to the bed, will talk to you tomorrow and see how everything is going with you and your friends. <hugs> get some rest! Guest guest
Welcome Jolene, I haven't read any of the posts in a day or so and am now way behind... Are you seeing a Dr.? Have you been diagnosed, and what type of treatment are you getting? I'm sure I'll read more about you in the upcoming posts, so if you've answered all this... never mind! LOL. Guest guest
I am sure have not gotten to it yet but am sure you have been written to that you absolutely do not ever, ever put ice on anything that could be or is rsd. It will hurt it more and could cause it to spread so please Jolene, please please stop all ice until you know for sure what the problem is my friend. I do not mean to talk with such absolutes here but this is an absolute truth about rsd and being you are new to this you may not of heard it before and if your doctors don't know about rsd they would not this either. Okay, please know telling you this to only protect you. Take care and please no ice. s Momma JoAnn
Guest guest
Jolene, I just read this e-mail from JoAnn and want to respond before I go to work. JoAnn is truly telling you this out of kindness as everyone here will also tell you the same thing. I got the "no ice lecture" from almost everybody here when I first joined...lol. And believe me, I tried so hard to plead my case and hang on to my ice, I couldn't imagine living without it. I was sure my doctor was correct that it was ok to use, but after listening to everyone and doing just a little bit of research on my own, I finally realized that they were all just trying to help me and they were all correct. Since then I have run into many situations where my doctor was wrong about RSD. So please take their advice and don't use ice until you know what is going on. <hugs> Lori
Guest guest
Hi Jolene, I am trying to get through some of this email and saw that you are using Ice. If no one else has said anything yet (which I doubt...) Ice is a real NO NO for RSD. More later, when and if I ever catch up. Jo is short for JoAnne. There were several JoAnne's with various spellings on the list so I became Jo. Honestly, I much prefer JoAnne, but as long as you don't call me JoJo, it's OK!
