Guest guest
> Does anyone wear a bracelet or necklace identifying themselves as a > diabetic?>>>> Here's some inexpensive or free alternatives to expensive medical ID bracelets from jewelers. I ordered a free necklace tag from the following website. There's a picture of the tag for you to see. It says, " I have Diabetes, please test my blood before treating me. " http://www.diabeteswellness.net/NewFiles/alertidentification.html Also, most drug stores or pharmacies carry stainless steel necklaces or bracelets for around $10.00. They have the red medical emblem on the front and the back of the ID just says, " Diabetic. " Avon makes a bracelet with interchangable chains. It is under $15.00 and also has the red medical ID symbol with " Diabetic " engraved on the back. I just checked their website, and did not see it listed though. Perhaps it is no longer available. Check with an Avon representative. For anyone who has access to a military surplus store or actual military facility, you can have dog tags made, up to 5 lines of whatever info you want on them for about $2.00. Or you could try a medical ID shoe tag for about $2.00. While at the mall last week I saw a medical ID watch. It had a silver/goldtone watchband with the red medical ID symbol on the watchface. Your medical info can be engraved on the back of the watch. It's not free or cheap, but I thought it was an interesting alternative to necklaces or bracelets. Here's a website for something similar to what I saw: http://www.medicalidwatch.com/products.html Try this website, I found all kinds of medical ID information. http://www.childrenwithdiabetes.com/d_06_700.htm Or try a " Google " search to find even more. Hope this helps. Tracie

Guest guest
I have one of those basic bracelets. I wear only gold so, it looks kinda funky. What I do is put it on the strap of my purse. Dh thinks I should be wearing it but, I think it is ok. The only problem being if the purse and I get separated. The gold ones are pretty high price for the amount of gold and style. Guest guest
Wow, I forgot I had a large round metal disk that I could add to a keychain as well. I try to always have on something. Doug won't ride with me driving so putting it on a keychain would be OK - or even in my purse on a keychain when I'm riding with him. Thanks, Millie > In a message dated 4/5/2004 6:21:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > mspiggy_039@y... writes: > I have a keychain > I have a necklace.
