Guest guest
Debbie J, Your week sounds like mine. I live in south Florida with my 83 year old mother. We live on a canal. Neither of us knew that living so near the water would be a problem. We continually get rats in our attic. (One got in my car 3 years ago and died. I had to have the entire inside of my car ripped out and de-ioned to get the stench out.) I here the rats late at night as they scurry across the ceiling. Last night I heard a noise like someone breaking into the house. It turned out to be a racoon looking for a way into the attic. Sure enough, this morning I look out and see that she's ripped off part of the roofing to get in and have BABIES! I called our exterminator only to be told they don't do that. I can call Critter Control he tells me and for $400 they'll trap this thing and get rid of it. I get a whopping $500 a month to live on from Social Security, like I can afford $400 to racoon proof my house. Calgon....take me away!! At first my husband was made and said I was banging on it too much. Later he learned the screws fell out of the hinge. He knows it's not my fault. Unfortunately he can't fix the door yet. Now we lift it and move it far enough to get it the bathroom to use shower. At night I leave it open. Today car died when I was at Target. It has been acting sluggish off and on but I didn't think it was serious. I do now. I waited in 84* heat for at least 15 min till my husband could pick me up. When he gets off tonight we will get it towed to the dealer. Tomorrow my husband gets off early so we can do our recycling errand early. Saturday we are going to the rodeo at 1pm but have to do grocery shopping first. The way the week has been going it's no wonder I hurt all over and am very exhausted. Could use some hugs! Guest guest
$400!!!! OUCH....I say just buy a handgun and some ammo. Much easier and less expensive than the exterminator to get rid of unwanted critters.

While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Guest guest
I am sure it will cost at least $400 to fix my car! Maybe I should kill it, too. It has a salvage title from being hit so much. I'm still sitting here waiting for someone...anyone at this point...to show up and trap these critters.....did I hear you offer to do the job???
