Ann,

Meredith is right, it's called Crisis Intervention. You can demand that

your child be seen by them, altho I cant believe they weren't called in

automatically with a suicide attempt. The ER by me never let my daughter go

without

being seen by CI, then she was always placed somewhere from there by

ambulance. I couldn't even drive her.

Hi Ann--

I'm surprised the Dr. was willing to take that kind of chance. If your daughter

was intent on killing herself, you wouldn't have been able to keep her safe. And

even if her attempt was a form of manipulation (to get her friend some help), it

was just as serious.

If something like that happened again, you could insist she be assessed in an ER

and have the hospital call in their psych people. You don't have to take one

doctor's word, especially one who doesn't know your daughter and has never seen

her. My son was assessed by four different doctors and therapists in the ER at

Kaiser before they decided to hospitalize him. That's how sure they wanted to

be.

The return call was not our Dr. but someone else who said just to keep her safe

and bring her in the morning! The emergency personell didn't like this idea,

but what could I do?

I agree she should've had CI, but the 3x we've been

thru the ER for the crisis intervention, we waited 6-7

hrs for the person to come!!! My daughter gets very

agitated and impatient . . cusses . . . etc. while

waiting. I was just as happy to keep her hm and take

her in the morning, but I didn't sleep at all!!!! I

am so worried that she will kill herself even tho', at

times, I don't think she's really serious about it.

She is in so much emotional pain and wants friends so

badly, but she just can't keep a friend!!! She

doesn't see that her lying, backstabbing, talking

trash about others . . . etc. make her lose friends.

Is there anything I can do to help this situation? I

don't think so, but if I'm missing something, someone

please tell me!!

Going to hospital to get her now. We'll see if they

decided to inpatient her. They did call and say the

Dr. is stopping the seroquel and increasing concerta.
