Guest guest
Hi everyone, I joined this group a while back, but have not posted for a long time...My son is 11.5, has had no speech since age 3. He became autistic after his MMR, DTP, HIB, TOPV at age 18 months, although I did notice some strange behaviors before this. had regained some speech and had a vocab of about 6-7 words by age 3, but got a tetanus shot at 3 1/2...he spent the next 6 months wandering around the house making strange repetitive noises...he has not spoken a word since except for a couple of times he whispered what sounded like a word. I have been chelating him for about 1 1/2 years and see very slow, although seemingly steady improvement. He also gets many supplements including flax oil. Are there any other parents with " older " non-verbal kids who are making progress with Pro-EFA and Pro-EPA? Thanks, Lindy
Guest guest
Hi Lindy, My son is also 11.7 yrs old. I have been giving him a supplement that is called Udo's Choice. It seems to have more of the Omega 3,6,and 9's in it. It is an oil. We checked out the pill form and it didn't seem to have as much in it, so we are sticking with the oil. We have noticed a big difference. My son went from only saying a few things, to saying 3-4 word sentences. I feel that I am starting this a little late but we just found out a few weeks ago that he had apraxia. They didn't tell us any kind of a dx but delayed development up to then. So I am glad that we finally know how to help him. I would say try it and see what it does for him. If you are interested in the Udo's Choice, you can read about it on his website it is www.udoerasmus.com. It gives a lot of information on efa's.
