Hey guys,

Has anyone tried going to an allergy clinc? Had a girl come into work today who had gone to one here in my town and they were able to tell her she's allergic to something in the air. Said they stuck her a lot of times until they came across something that made her skill redden up. Just wondering if this maybe something i should look into. My vv has had a lot of redness and soreness to it, that even my ob/gyn mentioned that it could be an allergy. Any thoughts?

Hi Holly,

I'm interested in the possibility that my symtoms are linked to an

allergy, too. The last gyn I went to thought my pain was a reaction

to Always pads (specifically the plastic layer on top) and recommended

I use Kotex. I wasn't too surprised because I already felt Kotex pads

were more comfortable, but using them exclusively (the maxi's and not

the thin pads..they have more chemicals) made my skin feel much less

sore and irritated. It didn't cure my condition at all, but I wonder

what else I could be sensitive to. Do I have to be referred to an

allergy clinic or can I find one myself?? Should I make specific

mention about my vag pain?

Please keep posting anything you find out.

questions re. allergy testing:

since I have never done it but want to, do you guys have any advice what to ask

for and

how to make sure one is tested properly re. vulvar pain?

E.g. Dusty, you mentioned your shampoo - did you bring in your shampoo or does a

good

allergist know what allergens to test for?

I heard the yeast test is different from the typical skin test they do on you

back and that

not everyone does it.

Thanks bel
