Tonia,

What kind of pain do you have in your back/shoulders? I've been having major problems with "trigger points". At first, it felt as if I were getting stung by a bee in one spot.. then two spots, etc. Now, I feel as if someone is stabbing me with a knife in these spots, and I have no idea what brings it on. When I am not getting the stabbing, it is very, very sore, like badly bruised. My little bit of research says it's a hyper-sensitve bundle of nerves within a muscle, so there's really no getting to it to relieve it.

My GP tells me that's a fibro thing. I've had trigger point injections without success, though my GP tells me it can be very helpful.

I don't know how that correlates to the hand/wrist problems, I believe that is a pinched/damaged nerve, possibly within the trigger points.

This is one of the few things that can bring me to tears. I try heat, and it does help the surrounding muscles...

Fun stuff, isn't it??

Hugs,

Jo

Tonia - Ok. I tried reading what you wrote. I tried reading between the lines. I even tried not reading it and I STILL couldn't figure out what "it" is that some of us are doing that you're having trouble doing. ly, I know that there are a whole lot of "its" that I'm NOT doing and even more "its" that I don't think that I'm doing. Probably even some "its" that that I think I AM doing but probably am not. What "it" are you talking about? If "it's" something I can help you with, I'll certainly try. Heck, you can even email me about "it" privately if It would help you with "it." For real. BarbaraTonia wrote:

hey everyone....I'm hoping that you can answer this question for me.

The backs of my shoulders are killing me....and have been now for a few days. No reason really.....but between the burning and slicing feeling I have on my left side is getting unbearable!!!

It isn't even feeling better....but in fact is feeling even worse!!!

What I'm hoping though is if someone could tell me whether or not where the pain is in the back of my shoulder, if that would make muscle spasms in my hand stop?

I really hate this!!!!!

for those of you who do have this sh*t in their hands....

HOW DO YOU DI IT??????? this is pretty embarrassing embarrassing ya know.... typing stuff here that is clearly a "woman's" thing, but knowing that MEN r gonna be reading ot@

Barbara,

"IT" is the backs of my shoulders....or, the RSD.

either one!!

The pains....burning, cutting, spams.....are all getting worse in the back of my shoulders, straight across, but mainly the left side, instead of getting better like it should be if this was just a flare up, not worse, right?

ok...I'm confused.....and wishing this would just go away!!!!

I had trigger point injections in my back too, when the spasms wouldn't stop after my block. The injections didn't help me either. I am still in severe pain from when the reumatologist pushed all my trigger points so I know how bad you feel. I've found that a heating pad helps some, not with spasming but with the pain. She said I have Fibro too, so maybe it's all somehow related? I don't know, still too new at this.

Lori,

It seems like more and more people that have RSD, ends up being dx'd with Fibro also.

I was dx'd with Fibro back in July.....but haven't had any injections for it. This pain just came out of nowhere.....

I really wish it would go back to no where and disappear!!!

Lori,

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia too--in January of 2003. I think they have to be related.

Love,

N.
