Guest guest
to Christmas dinner. My grandmother fixed a couple of things I could eat (I supervised to make sure they were legal). My dinner wasn't fancy (maybe next year), but it was fine. What surprised me was I wasn't bothered by not being able to eat the plethora of non-legal stuff that was there. My first time on SCD, it was very hard, but this time, I just didn't want it. I was happy that that was my reaction, because I was really worried. I wasn't worried that I would cheat; that's just not an option, but I was worried that I would crave stuff and feel left out. I used to read posts to the listserve about others not wanting illegals and loving their SCD food better, and feel so envious of those people. So, I was trilled at my reaction this time. Hope it keeps up about other gatherings. Historically, I've only had the I-like-my-SCD-food-better reaction at my MIL's house, because she cannot cook a lick. We've been ill, and haven't had time to experiment with making traditional Christmas dinner SCD style, but I'm looking forward to it. I plan to practice some this next year, so when the holidays come, I'll be ready! Shonda SCD 5 months
