Guest guest
Hello, Everyone I hope that everyone is having a good as weekend as possible. Mine will be quite sad, since I lost my Grandmother on Friday morning. She hasd surgery the previous Friday for Divaticulitis(sp), and a infection spread to her stomach, and it was to late and had spread through her system. So if I dont respond back to your emails right away, you will know why. Please say a silent prayer for Her and my Family.... thankyou My question is : I went to a new specialist on thursday, she has 3 specailties, and was very throrough . She will be starting injections in one month on me and the name of them started with Pro------ something. I didnt recognize it, and as you all know now I forgot the name of it. They will be in around my shoulder blade and along spine where the degeneration of the disc are at, between the neck and the shoulderblades. So if anyone has any idea what that name might be, I would love to look it up some and do some research. I was told I have to quit smoking before she would start them so she gave me a month time limit. She also new mygrandmother wasnt doing well , and prescibed me Ambien, in both 5mg and 10 mgs samples to try. The last 2 nights , I have taken it, because I knew I would sleep, with worry on my mine, and I would suffer twice the pain during the furneral. It worked wonderfully, and I am not one that likes to be knocked out in fear of not hearing anything or being awakin but I tried it for my health and hubby was home with me( he works nights).. she said be in bed when you take it, because it would work in 20 minutes, and would work for 8 hrs of full sleep, believe me it did work, 20 minutes later, I could feel something happeningI checked the clock and sure enough it was 20 minutes. So I relaxed my head and closed my eyes, and I didnt wake up for 8 hrsto the minute...lol , I had barely moved. I didnt feel groggy , or drugged.. I did feel better getting a full 8 instead of my normal 3-5. I tried it again last night, and had the exact same results. You really get 8 hrs to the minute. Well I have to run, I miss you all , and I have a ton of emails to get thru already, so dont be surprised if I dont respond right away. I will I promise. Take care ,and God Bless you all Soft Hugs, Dawn
Guest guest
Dawn, So sorry to hear about your Grandmother but I am sure she is in a better place and not suffering, my sympathies to you and your family. Regarding Ambien, it is wonderful in my opinion too. I have been taking it for about 3 mos thru the FMS dr and it has helped as far as sleep is concerned. I would recommend it to anyone who has sleep problems. The best part is the no drug hangover in the morning!! I will caution you though, do go to bed 20-30 minutes before hand. I haven't a couple of times and don't remember much past that. My husband thinks this is quite humorous and I won't go any further than that (LOL). Also, I have had a glass of wine or a drink every now and then and it will also give you added affects of drowsiness. It is wierd though when I have stayed up past the 30 minutes (1 hr or so) it doesn't make me feel like I have taken a drug that helps you sleep if that makes sense. Don't worry I have never left home but it is a drug and you definetly have to be careful what you do after taking it!! (not saying you wouldn't!) Well take care of yourself and my prayers are with you........ Tina (Iowa) ACM 1 & syrinx Surgery 7/99 FMS dx 5/
