I was talking to a woman yesterday that has a friend with a husband with skin on the head EXACTLY as you describe. This is a bit much even for EDS so I am going to find out the name of the disease and get back to you. Before I was diagnosed I would have flashed back an answer " plastic surgeon " but with EDS (and not knowing you healing issues) I suggest you do not till you find out what is going on. The lady I spoke with yesterday only checks her email during the work week (normally) so I am not sure when I can get back but when she does I will let you know. I don't want to scare you... I have no idea what this was ... it was just something she said in passing as a reference to something else but I will find out... In the mean time ... have you tried a rubber band at the top of your head? HA! Sorry, I couldn't resist and since I have floppy dog skin on my feet, hands and other places I figure could poke a bit of fun. Debbi
Guest guest
, I also have this as well, but not yet to the extent that you're speaking about. I believe a plastic surgeon could do this. Also, I've heard that if you go to an eye doctor and he says it intereferes with vision and recommends surgery to correct it, that it will be covered by insurance, whereas regular plastic surgery may not be. Guest guest
Debbi, Thanks for letting me know you have come across something like this. It is the oddest thing. I do go to dermatologist, and thought about asking him....he seems to have a wide base of knowledge....(even knows quite a bit about EDS). But If he doesn't have an idea, I'm still interested in who to ask. Thankfully I don't have wide scars if the stitches are placed closed together, and left in longer than usual. I have some really wide ones from pre-EDS diagnosis, and from cuts that I had when I was younger. Keep me posted with what you learn about the loose skin. Thanks again, PS I hadn't thought of a rubber band, but tape crossed my mind....<lol> From: JETSKIDEB@... Well, two types come to mind but ...
