Guest guest
That is so true! I read in a magazine recently that you should not let your baby/toddler fall asleep on the breast because they then won't be able to put themselves to sleep, and I felt heartbroken at the thought of any moms taking this stupid advice. > > >There is something so satisfying about a baby/toddler falling asleep >whilst being fed. >k. Guest guest
Of my three, the younger two were allowed to fall asleep at my breast, and to dictate in their early months when they were tired. My oldest son always had a schedule, and we did the same routine everynight. The younger two now can recognize when they are physically tired, acknowledge it and ask to go to bed. My oldest is always the last one to fall asleep; always has been. At 08:11 AM 4/17/99 , you wrote: >From: j-j@... ( and ) > >That is so true! Guest guest
is exactly the same. He tends to go to sleep by himself, but sometimes he needs that extra something. Guest guest
, I can understand because Zaid doesn't usually fall asleep on my breast (his doing not mine) and it is much easier for me and others to get him to sleep. Kaija would only sleep on my breast and later the bottle (bad choice) and has always been difficult to get to sleep. I think the problem is that it is the child's personality that dictates the situation, not whether or not you let them fall asleep at the breast. Its odd how so many people think that we can control our child's personality. I really don't think that is true, I think that we need to help our child's true personality blossom.
